people have been saying that this show has been getting worse, and i defended it.

No more after tonights episode, al gore was a horribly unfunny character. I wanted to punch my tv screen after the third time he said serial instead of serious. Too bad he did it like 50 more times. The whole premise of the episode was extremely dumb. I can't even remember one part i laughed at. Maybe cartman trying to hide the treasure he found by telling the guys not to go over to that area cause he just took a dump. But mostly this episode just sucked.

It was a serial good episode.

i'm done with this show. their parody of al gore was totally off base and not funny, and their constant dismissal of issues such as global warming is just disgusting.

how is that funny?

because you are taking it too seriously, just sit back and laugh at it, have fun.

but... its not funny.

and don't think that their total dismissal of serious issues doesn't carry some effect.

even without that, it just isn't funny. al gore speaks clearly and i've never even heard him say serial. what is funny about the parody of him?

I think you're just defending him because you feel sorry for him and don't think he has any friends.

phaedrus

well i do defend him because i think he's the only politician who actually wants to help the world. and he seems like a pretty personable guy based on spike jonze's documentary on him, not the major media portrayal. thats part of whats so cheap about the parody and this show

Yeah I don't know what they were thinking. Now I'll sleep in terror of manbearpig tonight. I'm definitely sleeping with the night light on.

john travolta was much funnier even though he was on only for a few seconds on the scientology episode.

I found the episode more comedic than the episodes on this season.

yeah, and then Colbert will start killing Grizzly bears...it's the next logical step :shake:

It's a joke, it's satire..it's meant to take major issues and make you laugh at them so it lets down your guard and look deeper into the issue.

Now, this episode wasn't very funny, the second part of Cartoon Wars was pretty weak, and the Oprah one was weak...especially in comparison to the Chef one.

Either way, I really don't think they have a responsibility to the discourse of global enviornmental politics...

I love South Park, but this season has been terrible for South Park standards. The best episode is easily the Chef one, but the rest just suck. I'm sad.
