Fort Minor is actually a quite solid hip hop album. i don't care if that takes my hip hop cred away. This album is pretty solid and Shinoda's flow and production are quite good. Couple that with appearances from Common and Black Thought, its bound to be pretty good.

Before you tell me what you think give some of the tracks a listen.

their single about family wasn't terribly impressive, but a few of Shinoda's rhymes have actually made me raise an eyebrow. is he the only MC?

It's pretty good. Remember the Name is a good song. Linkin Park is making their CD as a band by the end of 2006, that's even more to look forward too.

He gets Styles of Beyond on a lot of tracks and common and black thought in one or 2 tracks.

Common and Black Thought are both amazing lyricists, so that's enough to watch for. Never heard of Styles...

Heard of Styles P though...

Styles of Beyond are two guys signed to Machine Shop (Shinoda's label), they are both in remember the name.

Ryu is the white guy, and Tak is the black dude. There is also a producer and a DJ.

You can read more about them at wikipedia if you want.

I think they are alright.

I get a lot of shit for liking some of this stuff. Remember the Name is catchy as hell and In Stereo is pretty good. THough, the song about a cigarrette has some of the dumbest lyrics and metaphors ever. His rhymes arent very intelligent or anything, but sometimes thats not what your looking for. Its pretty fun to listen to though, shinoda is talented.

I disagree on that one. "Cigarettes" was one of the most clever and original metaphors I've heard in awhile. It's nothing but lies and fallacies marketed to us. And even though we know they're full of shit, we buy into it anyways wanting to be accepted.

I dug the Fort Minor album. My favorite was the verse by Black Thought on "Right Now". He wrecked the track...

If I have my facts correct, Rick Rubin is producing the new Linkin Park album. Which means it should be awesome. I think Rubin is also producing the Metallica album and if anybody say that band from itself, its him...
