Apparently this is why Autopilot Off broke up so Chris Hughes could invent Face Book not really but I wonder what the rest of them have been doing...

Just browsing around and thought i would share for the people that didnt know and use Face Book...

I think one of them is managing Just Surrender, possibly even running the label they're on.

Haha. That's pretty funny. I have one of Autopilot Offs CDs and I've never really given it a chance.

"On August 26, 2005, the band decided to take an indefinite hiatus and released the following statement on their official website:

"So, it's been quite a while since we have posted any news. We've been off the road for well over 6 months now. We played a couple of shows over the holidays in NY. But that is about all that has gone on. Rumors have started to fly around about what we are up to. We think its about time that we filled you all in.....

We've decided to take an indefinite break from Autopilot Off. It has been nearly 10 years since the band started, and it has been full speed ahead for the majority of that time. We have all decided to take some time for our lives outside of the band. We are all still the best of friends. In addition to this we decided a few months back to leave our home of 4 years at Island Records. We apologize for leaving you all hanging for so long. Thank you so much for all the support and friendships that you all have given to us over the years. We could never have done it without you."'

they're just average pop-punk. not exactly the pinnacle of modern music

Their lyrics alone crush most other pop punk bands. Chris is just a more thoughtful writer than most other frontmen in the genre, so yes they are a great loss. They've only gotten better with time too, so I bet their next release would be a good listen. We'll probably never know though.

You like a lot of great music, but I cringe when I see you trash the new Finch and not appreciate Autopilot Off who are just a step down from Midtown in talent.

That would be Chris Hughes... he and John Naclerio own Broken English Records, and Chris also works for The Firm Management and does side-work at John's studio.

Rob has his own graphics company, American Graphcs And Design.

As for Phil and CJ, I have no idea what they're up to.

If you're looking for the old Cooter stuff, the only places I know of where you can buy it is the vinyl release of "Looking Up" at Interpunk.com; and the Cooter/Slick Shoes split at FueledByRamen.com. Anything older than the split is out of print.
