Please don't predict the NFL Draft ever again..you aren't very good at it.

Seriously, he get's really iritating after awhile. I wanna punch him.

the ones on foxsports are worse.
I saw one that had brodie croyle going in the late 80's in the 3rd round. i haven't heard anyone say he's anything less than a mid 2nd rounder.

I completely agree about Kiper, but I think Hoge might be even worse sometimes...

i think merril hoge makes some very valid points on some prospects.
It's michael irvin that shouldn't be talking. ever. as a paid analyst.

I lost all respect for Hoge when he said "leinart and young should be 3rd round picks"

He changes them like literally everyday.

Haha, earlier on Sportscenter they showed the clip from 94 when Bill Tobin ripped him apart.

"Who the hell is Mel Kiper anyway? My next door neighbor knows more about the draft than he does, and my next door neighbor is a mailman."

yeah, but that was one of the times when kiper was dead on. be better if there were a clip like that from one of the many he's wrong on.

True, but you're not going to get ESPN to discredit the guy like that.

That made me laugh, in the ESPN Mobile commercial.

He has Vernon Davis as a better draftpick than Michael Huff. WTF..I thought Michael Huff was a phenom Defensive player?

he is. but vernon davis, he says, is better than any tight end was at this point. better than shockey, winslow, gonzalez, and antonio gates.

I lost all respect for Hoge when he said "leinart and young should be 3rd round picks"
why? They're both overrated. Leinart will be a good to solid QB, but not an elite one, like a top 10 QB is expected to be. and vince young will be a bust.

Mel Kiper has some valid points, but overall most of the opinions of people on ESPN should be taken with a grain of salt. Come on, Skip Bayless's Mock Draft was an absolute disgrace.

I dont think there is a single person who enjoys his columns, or his opinions. I don't know how the hell Woody Paige, or anyone for that matter, works with him.

i don't 'enjoy' his opinions, but i don't think he's as bad as everyone says he is. at least, he doesn't bug me that much. he has some weird opinions, true.

i don't think he has opinions.

i just think he says he thinks the exact opposite of everybody else.

then, 1 time out of every 2000 when he's right, he rubs it in everybody's face.

I agree. I like Jay Cutler, but calling him the next Brett Favre is so far-fetched. It's gotten to the point where I hope Cutler is a bust just so Skip can eat his words again.

bigmike
04/29/06, 07:29 PM
yeah, i'll give you that about him. he does rub everything in peoples faces when he is right about something.

but i do think that brodie croyle has a solid shot at being the best qb from this draft.

he never eats his words. it never comes up when he's wrong. he doesn't own up to it, and nobody calls him on it. they just let him go on with more ridiculous statements that they won't call him on when it's proven they're insane.

In the games i've seen Brodie, I really like what i've seen. I'm interested to see how his career pans out.

The Jets sure did, drafting an elite tackle in Ferguson and the top-rated center in Nick Mangold of Ohio St. Like someone said, the jets went from having an O-line as an obvious weakness, to one of their strong points. I like the pick of Clemens also, he and Croyle should both be great qbs, I would have prefered Brodie I think though.

no, no, no. i'm not saying that. i'm just saying it doesn't matter if he was the best on his college team. come this point, that doesn't mean a thing.

he's a good quarterback that will translate well into the pro game. especially considering he'll probably have to wait 2-3 years til he even gets a shot.

let's hope he is allowed to wait atleast 2 years to learn the system and isn't forced in like Bollinger was last year because of Penningtons noodle, and Ramsey the Statue in the pocket.

Skip Bayless' mock draft was unblievable..

He had like Winston Justice going 5 and D'Brickishaw Furguson going like 11th, plus he had Cutler going before Leinart and Young I think.

The whole draft was poorly done in the end, too much patches of silence and people talking when they didn't think their mics were on. Very sloppy.

yeah, that's about the only good thing he's said in a long time.
last night on sportscenter he called mario williams "patrick ewing" and reggie bush "michael jordan". he said: "maybe mario williams becomes a patrick ewing. but you don't pass on michael jordan to draft patrick ewing"

...

yeah, i'm not lying. he said that.

i think i like the mangold pick more than ferguson. i just don't see anything orlando pace/tony boselli (spelling?) in ferguson. he'll be good, but i don't know if he'll be top 5 in the draft, good. but they had a nice start to the draft, for sure.

He had Cutler going to Tennessee, Young going to Houston with the first pick. He didn't have Mario Williams or Matt Leinart in his top 10.

the only thing i dont like about Cold Pizza is Skip Bayless...he likes to make these insane predictions and try to show up Woody Paige.
Now true Woody is out of his mind, atleast he is entertaining. Skip is just annoying

See, Woody approaches all his shows to have fun and entertain, Skip is just about being right and looking like he knows everything. It actually seems like Jay Crawford and Dana Jacobsen(hosts of Cold Pizza) are afraid to call out Skip, the only one who isn't is Woody and he gets bashed for it half the time.

I totally agree, sometimes i can see Jay want to say something about Skip's opinions and predictions because he more often times than not agrees with Woody.
I think they need to put someone else on that show besides Skip.

They'll never replace Skip because he's the perfect antagonist to Woody. I bet they get thousands of emails and letters a day asking to replace Skip, but people will still watch even if he's there just to see how ridiculous his statements are.
