View Full Version : Tom Speaks Out On Fall Of Troy

In regards to the Fall of Troy (http://www.thefalloftroy.com/) rumors (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=133188) going around, singer Tom has finally spoken out about it.
Without giving any of you details that you don't need... The last 2 days have been the hardest days for this band ever. People have done everything that we never wanted to do. We've been on the road now for a very very long time, and last night was the culmination of it all... We are VERY sorry for the actions we took, but we just couldn't control it. I walked off the stage because I felt embarrasses of it all, I didn't want to come back out, but I came back out for you guys? The kids! Cause I fucking care more about you guys than this fucking band. We love each and everyone of you, so please try to understand were going through some very difficult times but we ARE trying to make it through...
We will be finishing the dates with #12 than going on an indefinate break following. We are going to try to get new songs together and get our heads straight... We don't want this band to end, but we don't want it to continue on in the fashion it has been lately. We are EXTREMELY sorry to you guys in Indiana and Ohio. You kids were awesome and should've been given the insane show you deserved. And hopefully next time, we'll do so.
Thomas

Hope they straighten things out.

no warped tour either?
no no no! they can't do that! i have been waiting forever to hear this band live. i think its almost impossible to pull off a show that does their music justice, its so insane from a band with only 3 members
will someone please explain what happened and what exactly hes talking about? I mean obviosly something happened between the members but was anyone at the shows hes talking about or know what caused this?

There wont be any member changes, those three will always be the fall of troy. They themselves have even said if one splits they end. I really hope they straighten shit out they're fucking amazing and really cool guys too.

That doesnt' make up for it. You are a band, be fucking professionals and play a set. There are people all over the world who would kill to be playing music for a living, and while it is a difficult and honorable profession, they are fortunate to be doing it. I love FOT but loose a lot of respect for them due to thgis. When I have "issues" i still go to school and work (before you jump down my throat, sickness of any kind, loss of a family member etc. are reasons to cancel. Also, it should be noted they didn't cancel, but instead showed up and put on a half-ass effort), suck it up and play, your problems are petty and I, quite frankly, couldn't care less. If you have to cancel the tour, finish the date you are on and do so, don't steal 10 dollars from eager concert goers just to deliver that bullshit. I am currently at school in Columbus, Ohio and was not able to go to the show last night. If I had, I would be beyond pissed off at all of those bands. If this has anything to do with disputes between band members, I'm sorry, that is not an excuse. It is nothing more than childish bickering.

simple fact. they've been touring non-stop. partied way too much. and they're burnt out.

it wasn't about childish bickering. you would realize why they walked offstage if you had been there and seen it for yourself, it was bad - performance wise.

you may have a point in some fashion or another...but be real. playing in a band and putting on a show is not just business for the real musicians out there. the chemistry needs to be there. if theres no chemistry theres no way that you can possibly expect to play music together. music is something where the musicians need to enjoy what they are doing...if there is bickering within the band... how can you stand right next to someone and play the same song and have a good time if you wanna punch that person in the face or something along the lines of that.... if the band isnt having a good time playing the music we love... how can we love it?

you have no idea what it's like to be on tour. it's a "business" where emotion plays a big role in how well you peform. touring can be extremely hard on you mentally and physically, and if there was indeed some sort of partying going on (i don't know these guys personally so i can't say), it can break you down pretty quick.
at least he came out and apologized and semi-explained the situation. shit happens. band members are afterall human beings. i'm sure when you have "issues" you don't peform at the top of your abilities. same goes for people in bands, so don't talk about a situation that you have no clue about.

i hope they figure things out.. i don't consider myself a big fan of this band, but i do admire the way they are really determined to get through this tough time. some bands would hit a few bumpy roads and call it quits without ever really scratchin the surfraces of their problems. it's good to see they are as dedicated and resilient in this. good luck to them.

I don't think this will be one of those indefinite hiatuses. Remember Thursday and how they were going to "break up"? I think this is a very similar situation. Once they all go home and solve their problems that have been building up, they will be back and better than ever and will make an album that will blow us all away. Just have a little faith guys ;)

Yes, tfot is better not only musically.. but their songwriting is loads better than blink.
blink 182 never got out of the same progression/different key formula. I like blink and they're the reason I started liking so many new types of bands and music, but there is no competition. The only good musician in that band was travis. Mark was a shitty bassist and even admits it, and tom was not nearly as good as he thought. The fall of troy are fucking insane live, I met them and hung out with them after their show in maine in feb, and they are all really cool chill guys.. so hopefully all goes well.

you are fucking braindead. the fact that you think showbread is better than fall of troy, and that fall of troy is a "shit equal vision band" is a good indication of how stupid you are. the fall of troy may not interest you, but to say they suck is ridiculous. that 19 year old asshole of a singer can play guitar like no other. and why are you comparing TFOT to fucking blink 182? seriously.

Tom is easily the best guitarist that I have ever seen. I saw them play with the Number 12 in February(?) when they went out with Ever We Fall. It was the best show I have ever been to. The sounded tight when I saw them, so I don't know about chemistry. But a Number 12/Fall Of Troy split would be so hot.
