What do you guys think about Haliburton (SP) getting the contratc to rebuild iraq?? Its not really a surprise becasue good ol' dubaya's right hand man is dick cheney and we all know of his connections with the company.

If we do it right then this war wont be a TOTAL bastardization of human rights and american ideals. but hell, i dont see that happening soon. look at afghanistan, we put a lot of effort into that!

1. Haliburton was the 1st to be considered
2. they only withdrew due to the controversy
3. they are still involved at a secondary level

I hate when people use afghanistan as a prime example for the future of Iraq.

a) how many people live in Afghanistan vs. Iraq?
b) how many American forces were in Afghanistan vs. Iraq?

Our goal there- was to get the Northern Alliance a chance to take the country. So they did. We assisted a bit- and then we left them alone. Whats wrong with that? We still gave them BILLIONS of dollars- like we do to every arab nation- including the palastinians.

also, afgahnistan is a dirt poor third world country with no natural resources other than poppy fields. Iraq is a very wealthy first world country with the most valuable resource, which will be used to boost their economy. its comparing 2 totally different nations, iraq's rebuilding will be much quicker simply because they have the money, and infrastructure to do it.
