I'll follow gold as I wander with lead weighing me down for what seems like years.
And achievement is, optimistically speaking, virtually unachieveable.
But only because ties were severed and knots undone.
Blood never meant a thing to you.
But footsteps in sand might, or moreso those never made in snow.
As seasons go, we made sunsets last for days in autumn.
And that is something I'd rather not change.
But now, as humidity and sunbeams graze the days in which were we one year ago, only damp, moist ground lies, forbading and ever reminding.
And the sky, calm, but not forgiving, waits for whispered regret and honesty.
But myself and the sky wait for something that will never come, a promise said, but never made or broken.
In the end, the treasure hunter only found what he expected.
