My group has been touring with rapper NaS and we're looking into getting some in-ear monitors. Just seeing if anyone has any experience and can offer some advice as to what's on the market within reason. So far the only thing I've heard are things around $800 or $900 for the ear molding and the headphone package. Anyone know anything about getting your ears "tested" and adjusted within certain frequencies and levels?
Thanks!

I toured in a band with them and all I can say is it would have been hell if we hadn't been traveling with a sound guy... depending on how many people in the group use them, I guess. It was just a whole thing for us, but I've been with singers who use them without hitch. That price range sounds about right.

Get a "Cheap" or off brand receiver/transmitters... spend the majority of your money on the earbuds and inserts.... A lot of the smaller companies make great receivers/transmitters, but their ear buds are shit. I use Galaxy Audio in ears w/ Shure ear buds/custom inserts... total cost was under 400 bucks. For multiple people it will obviously cost more, but with that particular brand you can run multiple transmitters off of one receiver.

Westone UM2's worked great for me. they sold the design to Shure for the E5's so i hear, but they sell the UM2's at half the price. they sound beautiful.
