Okay, so I really feel that I need to lose some weight especially since I haven't been playing soccer and I won't be playing like I used to in the fall.
Basically what are some simple things I can do/change in my life to help me lose weight? I know that drinking a lot of water is a good way to lose it, but any other suggestions? I do work out a fair amount and once I'm done with school I'll probably starting running 1 to 2 miles a day, but I'm horrible with changing my diet. Yea, so any weight loss suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You pretty much know what you have to do; drink water and just watch what you eat. And sit ups, push ups, light lifting also tone your body, which is nice.

Hmmm, drinking water and watching what I eat is so difficult though...hahaha
I have no problem running (although I hate it) and working out. I actually really enjoy lifting weights. I guess my achilles (spelling?) heel is watching my diet.

In the winter I started working out 3x a week, drinking 5 or 6 bottles of water / day and I ended up losing about 22lbs. But, apparently guys can lose weight faster than girls?
Good luck. I need to start working out again.

yeah running can burn a shitload of calories....i run cross country and distance events for track. Theres plenty of sites that can get you set to a program, it may help to have a type of schedule to make sure you do it.

you need to eat right
bottom line...
start eating lean proteins like chicken breast, lean ground turkey, turkey breast, fish, tuna, lean meat, etc...
complex carbs like regular oatmeal(not that instant shit), whole wheat pasta, bread, etc.., potatoes, sweet potatoes, veggies, fruit, etc..
ditch processed food, SUGARS, products with trans fat in them
start getting good fats in your diet.... flax seed oil, fish oil, natural peanut butter, unsalted nuts
lift weights
do cardio
no weight lifting program is going to "tone" you up
toning is diet diet diet diet diet diet

At the beginning of this year I started jogging 2 miles everyday, and started eating healthier and I drank tons of water. Then it started getting cold and I didn't want to jog, so I cut out just about all of my carbs from my diet and ended up losing 20 pounds. Eating healthy and staying active will do the trick. It's as easy as that.

Stop moving
Get really depressed for like a month
Get sick
Drink diet sodas
That's helped me lose 10 pounds in 4 months.

drinking water doesn't really do much unless you cut out or limit soda, juices, & alcohol. snack every couple hours so you don't wind up ravenous at meal times & eating tons. basically eat anything you want- just less of it.

the only way i can lose weight is to starve myself. so i just don't try anymore...
tips for you: keep doing what you do. exercise, drink lots of water, eat lots of fruit. avoid caffeine.
allow yourself things like fast food/chocolate/whatever every now and again, but IN MODERATION. if you try and completely deprive yourself you'll give end up craving too much and bingeing.
i lost 30lbs in a month. i went to the gym twice a day, both times i ran for 30 minutes, then did weights for 30 minutes. and changed my diet. yogurt for breakfast. tuna on wheat for lunch. then for dinner usually fish, salad, just something healthy. and drink lots and lots of water.
Why do you do that? You're just going to die anyways.
Just kidding. Does anybody else know where i got that from?

I had the minimal amount of carbs that I needed. I didn't notice a change in how my body worked, I wasn't weak or tired, so I think it's fine. Cutting Carbs can be good, if you do it properly, Mr. Health.

id have sex with you kara...
y ive been trying to lose some weight myself, and you just gotta portion control your food....eat what you want, but kinda fool yourself....so you want a burger? do it, but with ground turkey, and add lots of spices...boom way better for you. buy more fruit and stuff, cut it up when u get home, and put it in bowls..when you get a craving...go for that instead of chips...its easier when you have stuff on hand...specially now that its getting nicer out..the fruit is getting better, strawberries, watermelon, etc. when it comes to sweets, try having 1 cookie..but eat it..slower..if that makes sense...really enjoy it..cuse than youll feel satisfied, without eating like 5 of them! or if you want chocolate, go for dark chocolate, cuse its way better for you. You cant possibly cut yourself off from everything you like, but you can portion it a little better, and eat healthier things with it...ive lost 15 in the last month in a half or so...just from eating like that, and running/walking 3 times a week.

What about Gatorade? I've heard mixed things about whether it's actually better for you then pop because I often crave something sweet to drink a lot, so I've tried to replace drinking pop with drinking Gatorade, does anyone know if that's actually good or not?

Gatorade has a lot of salt in it, which makes you retain water, so I don't know if it's actually good to drink

Hmmm, well shit. What about Propel, that flavored water?
I'm just trying to find an alternative for when I'm actually craving something sweet to drink. I know there's always juice, but juice is kind of expensive. :/

Your best bet is the actual water that is flavoured. Stay away from Gatorade products. Do you know which water I'm talking about? The kind that's in ordinary bottles and has like orange, lemon and berry flavouring..

Get the Aquafina kind. Its really good and has zero calories and I dont know about sodium but Im pretty sure its low if there is any.

I heard it was healthier to eat meat because of the enzymes you consume that help break down fat...

gatorade is probably one of the best things you could possibly drink RIGHT after you're done lifting weights....
however, that's pretty much the only time it should be taken

you can also buy an iced tea maker and use it to brew your own regular tea or green tea.... there are craploads of different flavors. get a bag of splenda to add some sweetness
stay away from diet sodas or anything sweetened with aspartemine

that didn't even work for me. i never really gained more than 2 or 3 pounds (and always lost it just as quick) for more than a year. i lost 40 pounds and manage to maintain for a year and a half before i went vegetarian. then i still maintained until november, when i became depressed, didn't eat for a week, lost 8 pounds and then when i started eating again gained it back, and then some.
but i think i know why i gained wait, so i know what to do to lose it. i started eating more junk food and became less active. i had a friend of mine write down an exercise plan for me to help me lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks. i cut out soda and stopped eating as much chips etc...and started drinking more juice to curb sugar cravings.
i'm going to start the exercise plan next week (since i don't have the time this week) and i'm hoping it works.

watch what you eat and work out, cheapest most simple proven weight loss plan ever. it may not be easy, but it works and is the most effective
trust me...whatever you do, do NOT take a diet pill....that is the worst possible thing that you can do for yourself. I know, I tried one once and I lost 15 pounds, but after I stopped taking them, i gained back double. When you wake up in the morning, drink two glasses of water, that will get your metabolism going. You can also go on a detox diet for a week to flush out any impurities in your system. It is really good for you. Drink lots of water and natural sugar-free juices and eat a lot of green veggies. eat fruit too, but too much will raise the amount of sugar in your system and can counter-act with the diet and make you gain water-weight, which is harder to get rid of. Hope that helps. And eating more protein is good for muscle gain. But don't go cold fish on carbohydrates because it makes you crave and then you'll end up binge eating on them because you want them so bad. Trust me, I tried it and I am a typical girl and love my carbs. Instead, just cut down on them and find more healthier ways of eating them, like in a wild rice stir fry with chicken. That is good.
Eat less and walk a lot. When you are hungry drink a lot of milk or water.
Chicken is good, not KFC.

That's how it used to be for me. I've played soccer for 16 years, but I'm done now. Soccer was my weight loss mechanism, but now I have to figure out something else.

i lost a lot of weight when i had mono.
after i had my son, i was on a half way low carb diet. i would only eat fruit once a day and starch once a day. the rest of the time i ate low car foods, and did pilates and yoga. it got me back to the size i was pre-baby. but it did help that my ob/gyn had already put me on a low carb diet during my pregnancy, so i was already used to it and didnt have to adjust my eating habbits any.
