Raindance Film Festival: 30th Sept 2009 - 11 Oct 2009


This year at Raindance Film Festival we've got loads of music documentaries, including the world premiere of the highly anticipated All The Years of Trying!

We've also got loads of great parties and events right in the middle of Soho, London.

Among the films that we're showing this year are:

ALL THE YEARS OF TRYING
From UK
IN COMPETITION. Music documentary about cult ‘punk poet’ Patrik Fitzgerald. Preceded by live performances.

WE FUN
From USA
An insider’s look at the world of bands like the Black Lips, Deerhunter and Mastodon that started off playing home parties and homemade venues before rising to international prominence.

I NEED THAT RECORD
From USA
A documentary examining why over 3,000 independent record stores have closed across the U.S. in the past decade.

BREAKING ROCKS
From UK
This inspiring documentary tells the story of Jail Guitar Doors, Billy Bragg's independent initiative which aims to provide instruments to prison inmates using music to achieve rehabillitation. The film, screening at Proud Galleries, Camden, will be followed by a gig featuring Billy Bragg, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly, Mick Jones (The Clash), Wayne Kramer (MC5), Chris Shiflett (Foo Fighters) and the JGD Graduates.
