5,000 hours of pure sadness. Wii sports was fun for like seven tenths of a second. Trade your xbox and all your games in and get a ps3 did, they gave me such a good deal.

My ps3 optical disc drive burned out.

It was $160 to get fixed, but it was worth it.

5,000 hours is going overboard, but I really do enjoy all of the games on it. I disagree with this statement.

That sucks. I know some people who go the ring of death, but they were under warranty so it wasn't a big deal. Sounds like you're fucked, though.

woah, this just happened to me last night.

I bought it in 06, happened to me in 08, then again in 09. It said my warranty is expired yet for them to fix it, it is free? I'm guessing because i haven't had this one over the 3 years? I'm not too sure really....

It'll happen to ya eventually. Honestly, 6 of my buddies have one and it has happened to all of them once.

Bought one used in a package deal with games, controllers, drum kit, other accessories, and the RRoD came after about 3-4 months.

Luckily, I had enough credit at Hastings that I could get another basic model for free and switch the 256MB hard drive for the larger one I already had.

I got mine used through Amazon marketplace, and had the RROD and they still fixed it under warranty for free. Just register it on Xbox.com and they will cover it.

Not to mention the overall price was ridiculous.

I don't know what a lot of the problems are.
I've only heard of them.

However I have heard about problems with the laser reader.
My friend had to get his fixed, although I do not know what that cost.

And someone else in the thread said his optical disc drive burned out.
So I don't know. Not saying Xbox is better; just saying, PS3 isn't perfect as some people think.

I got some weird video error for my 360. I was half-tempted to buy a 360 at Wal-Mart and just switch the systems (I did it before with X-Box controllers), but I'm pretty sure they check the serial numbers and whatnot.

So yea, I'll be $100 out soon.

I have no idea why anyone would buy a 360 pre-owned. Literally every single friend that I have who owns a 360 has had significant problems with it, and if I am spending $200 plus on a console, I want it to last. I've had my PS2 for 8 years and it still works just fine.
