Look here (http://www.cnn.com/POLLSERVER/results/2998.content.html).

Does anyone else find it kind of strange that the American public thinks that some missing chick is more important that Iraq, Syria, and SARS? I don't understand why the news networks make such a big deal out of these missing persons cases. Yes, they're sad, but they're also fairly insagnifigant compared to other things going on in the world.

before 9/11 the biggest concern of this country were shark attacks, people were saying that the government has to do something about it, that it was such a big problem. i believe there were only 2 or 3 attacks....and it was actually below the annual average...time to panic!

that is really sad that all of our attention is focused towards an already dead girl. events in NK and Iraq are much more prevalant than this. SARS is a little overrated too, but much more of importance than the river girl

the general public is tired of war coverage and more news on SARS. that is my assumption as to why they are giving it so much attention.

Just imagine if your loved one was found dead... It is good to get different stories sometimes (even though this was bad news). Personally, I was getting a little tired of the war news, it hardly changes all day. They just keep saying the same things over and over. And don't worry, I'm sure everyone will go back to the war and Laci will be forgotten, again.

You guys should meet my uncle, the guy is so stupid. We were watching FOX News (of course) and we saw the Laci Peterson shit on. They showed the husband and I said:

" 'guys a murderer. 'chopped off his wife's head."
My uncle goes "Chopped off her head?"
"Yes" I reply.

Then he says "Nice move. She's taking up 'time they should be showin' war."

hahaha! what a goofball! but its true!
