What are some cute things someone could do for their significant other that lives really far away? Basically they can't be physically there to do anything. I'm fresh out of ideas, any suggestions?

Umm...last year my girlfriend sent my roommate a playlist and had him burn me a CD and leave it on my desk while I was at class. I enjoyed it.

Flowers magically at their door when they return from work.

But the key is that it has to have their favorite flower in it. That's the personal touch, anyone can buy flowers.

Flowers is the best thing, but they gotta be like roses..roses are sick. They look so cool when they're in a big bouquet.

Or you can always go with Plan B, take naked pics of yourself in provocative positions. If that doesn't say 'I Love You' then I have lost all faith in relationships.

Buy a movie the two of you watched together or perhaps just one of their favorites and attach a little note to it like "next time we'll watch it together" or something along those lines.

make him a book. put pictures in there, magazine clippings, make up your own story and picture captions, etc. you can also send cards every now and then for no reason at all, just to say you are thinking about them.

put one synthetic flower in the bouquet and a note that reads

"i will love/care for you until the last flower dies"

I'm pretty sure that doesn't say "I Love You," so feel free to lose all faith in relationships. I think that's more like "I Want to Make Love to You," "I Want to Have Sex With You," or any one of many more explicit takes on the same idea.

edit: On second thought, the thought just occurred to me that there is a distinct possibility that you were being sarcastic. If that is in fact that case, do a better job next time.

That's pretty cliche.

You just have to think about the person and do something they'd like, its hard for other people just give out ideas. Do something sweet that has meaning in your relationship. Little things one couple might love, others would hate.

Although the practice of writing a song for someone is cliche, the song itself isn't. Its an original piece of art telling someone how you feel about them.
Its alot different then sending someone a plastic flower with a note a million other people have already sent.
I can see how you would be confused though.

I agree with jamie.

Think of something that is only significant between the two of you. Something you like doing when you are together but makes no sense to any one out of the relationship.

Umm, last year when my girlfriend was going to Northwestern (Illinois...I live in CA) I sent her a Valentine that had my favorite football player Troy Aikman on it. I also wrote her a letter. And I'd write her songs all the time and record them on my computer and send them to her. Her floormates became fans too. I'd even write stupid songs about her boobs and stuff. She loved it.

That wasn't meant to insult him...what do I have to prove to anyone on a fucking message board? Holy shit.

True, true but responding to it at all just made you sound stupid.

Oh and i thought of another you could do. Write little notes during the day whenever you think of them, or something stupid or funny that they might find interesting happens, or just whatever.

When i was in Iraq, my friend wrote letters to me about everything I had missed and it was just really nice. Sometimes there'd be half a note on like a sticky or something and then continued on a scratch piece of paper so she had to number all the pieces so i could read them in order but I loved it. Plus it lets you know how much you're thinking of them.

how about this, using post-its and a sharpie marker, write down some stuff, (i.e. Good Morning, I Love You... etc.) and post them around their room when they are not there or when they are asleep.
