do you think it will be before video game makers take the route that movie makers have gone and start remaking old games?

ie: instead of making zelda: insert name here....they remake legend of zelda.

or remake final fantasy 1 with new graphics and stuff.

i thought of this because i read somewhere they remade the beginning cgi video of ff7 for the ps3 and it looked amazing which made me want them to remake the game for the system...but what if they did a shitty job? would that ruin the original?

Resident Evil has had several remakes.

yeah, I'd say its already begun with the likes of Resident Evil and MGS:Twin Snakes.

They redid RE1 for Gamecube with revamped graphics. MGS: Twin Snakes was a remake of MGS1 with new cut scenes and shit.

a remake of a Link to the Past with the graphics of Twighlight Princess would be orgasmic... although they kinda already did remake it for DS...

I thought they were both fucking awesome, to be honest. The dogs in RE1 didn't look like dinosaurs anymore. Haha.

I really don't mind it. If you're a purist, don't bother with it and just play the original. :shrugs:

no im not a purist. but if you try and change around some things...like what they do for movie remakes...and make it worse ill be pissed.

Final Fantasy: Origins and Dawn of Souls were sort of remakes: they upgraded the graphics, battle system, level system and added a bunch of stuff.

Oh yeah, I wasn't targeting you directly with that comment.

But yeah, understandably so. So far, there hasn't been any really disgraceful video game remakes as far as I can tell.

It isn't much of a problem with video games if you ask me, because there's still a lot that can be explored. Besides which it takes fucking ages to code these games I bet, and if it isn't going to be worth it, why bother?

But they did remake Mega Man X and Mega Man 1 for PSP.

i want a remade silent hill.


i wanted to play it a little while ago but i couldn't because the graphics were so bad. [i don't want a new story, i want the exact same game with updated graphics, and possibly better controls]

I'm not sure if it was a full graphical overhaul, maybe some extra features or something, though.
