Below, you can read a lengthy update about what Spitalfield (http://www.spitalfield.net) has been up to these days.
Hey friends-- long time no update. Since there is a lot to cover, I'll get straight to it. No time for romance. Wait, there is always time for a little romance. Anyways...
STUDIO! We are in the studio now recording our upcoming full length, scheduled for an October 3rd, 2006 release through Victory Records. We are extremely excited about the new material and can't for everyone to hear some of it! We plan on posting a demo on our myspace & purevolume sometime soon. Stay tuned.
LOCAL SHOW! We are playing a hometown show on May 28th in Addison, IL. Tickets went on sale last week, and the room holds 700. Tickets are going quickly- so don't wait too long to get yours. Our myspace page (myspace.com/spitalfield) has a link to buy advance tickets online, they are $10 each, and the service fee is tiny. Playing is: The Felix Culpa, The Skyriter & Villains of Verona. Also-- we will be playing a new song at the show!
WARPED TOUR! We are very excited to say that we will be on 24 dates of this years VANS WARPED TOUR. We will be on the following legs: June 16 - 30 & August 1 - 11. All ticket info can be found at warpedtour.com
JULY HEADLINING TOUR! Since we aren't on the West Coast portion of Warped Tour, we've decided to hit the West Coast headlining instead. A handful of dates are already posted, announced as they come in- so check back often. Our support will be: June, Cute Is What We Aim For, Lydia (select dates) & Valencia (select dates). It's going to be awesome.
*Whew* That was a lot. Hope everyone is doing well, and thanks for reading if you've made it this far!!!

you've got to be kidding.
i know everyone is entitled to their opinions but in terms of the quality of RRN [lyrics, mixing, production, etc.] SDBT is a step down.
sure, there are a few solid melodies but it just seems like the band wasn't that focused - it seemed like they just rushed everything.

most underrated band in my opinion, but i must say that SDBT wasn't as good as RRN, but i will say that both album deserve more recogniziton then they got. can't wait to see them on warped and can't wait for the demo's

Haha. You're wrong. RRN was pure power pop. Catchy sugary pop with cheesy lyrics. The songs, structure and quality is a lot better on Stop Doing Bad Things. The production of the album fit the sound of the band perfectly. Also, the lyrics are a lot better. It most certainly was not a step down. Not catering to the lowest denominator (RRN) and actually making a solid album musically (SDBT) is not taking a step down.
i wouldn't say it's a step down too, we'll see how new songs will sound, i can't tell anything about new album, and there's new TJ on bass, don't know, will this be close to last one, or totally different
i cant wait to not listen to this cd.

I'd love for them to leave Victory. I feel dirty buying their albums. I want my money to go to the band but I don't want to contribute to Victory. I'm not saying I only download their stuff, I'm saying it was painful when I did.

I think the opening stretch of songs, especially "Texa$ with a Dollar Sign", are amazing. This CD came out either on the same day or around the same time as The Everglow by Mae and I was listening to Stop Doing Bad Things so much at the time that I'm just now starting to fully appreciate the Everglow which many people, myself included, think was one of the better albums of last year.

So much to be excited about!
SDBT > RRN in my opinion-- but both are great records for different reasons. Really no need to compare.
Is TJ back in the band? Did I miss that?
no, just new bass player is called TJ too :-)

music is largely based on opinion.
i hope spitalfield can create something new - a natural progression.
well, their sound changed like 3 times, so who knows, but You can hear some big influences on every cd they make :-)
