so the first issue is now on stands. what does everyone think now that you've had a chance to read it?

i personally think it's off to a great start. house of m ran for 8 issues and about as much happened in that as this one issue of civil war. i particularly loved the captain america action sequence. man can that mcniven draw. his stock is gonna skyrocket after this (god, please put him on an x-book). i loved infinite crisis, but the series topped out for me on issue 4, so the ending left me wanting a little more. i'm thinking civil war might end up being even better.

oh and of course no civil war discussion could go on without this question: whose side are you on?

I'm on Cap's side, which I think is basically the way you have to be. They portray Iron Man's side to be the villains almost in the first issue. It's going to be interesting, but the first issue kicked ass. Loved it. Thanks for making a separate thread too, I don't want to go in the comics thread for fear of reading Infinite Crisis spoilers. I haven't gotten it yet because it sold out at my local piece of shit comic store. Oh yeah, didn't really know a lot that McNiven did before, but holy shit. That first issue of Civil War was immacualately drawn. What a talent.

i'm in the same boat as you. i stopped reading the main comic thread because i don't get to the comic store often (the closest one is about an hour's drive) and was afraid of spoilers. i have to say though, i'm on iron man's side. when you really think about it, if you actually lived in the marvel universe, you wouldn't want untrained civillians in masks running around blowing shit up with no accountability. although i totally buy the way cap stated his case. this is gonna be so cool to see how it all plays out.
