The Oasis Appreciation Thread

To me Oasis is one of the best bands of all time. About a year and a half ago I started to get really into them and their music has as a huge impact on me. It's really sad to think to alot of people they are "That Wonderwall band" when they have so many other amazing and(in my opinion) better songs than Wondewall(Champagne Supernova, Don't Go Away, Don't Look Back in Anger, Slide Away, The Masterplan).

Noel Gallagher is a genuis to me and still very much is.
They are just one of those bands that are just a juggernaunt in terms of quality. People go on and on about how "they aren't as good as they used to be". Completely wrong in my opinion. The new record "Don't Believe The Truth" is to me just as good as (What's The Story) Morning Glory.Not to mention they are one of the few bands whos B-Sides are just as good as their A-Side. The song 'The Masterplan' let alone proves that. I think they are a extremely underrated band and should be given alot more credit too. I think that they derserve to be as big as a band like U2 is.

I like U2 and I think they deserve their success but Oasis is the type of band that should be just as big.

Listen to The Beatles' Hey Jude then listen to Around The World by Oasis.

Oasis rule, definately one of my favourite bands. Infact... Wonderwall is my favourite song...

If you're not really into them you should really check out the following songs:

- Wonderwall
- Cast No Shadow
- Champagne Supernova
- Live Forever
- Sad Song
- Stop Crying Your Heart Out
- Morning Glory
- Talk Tonight
- Don't Look Back In Anger

Those songs should be enough to get you into them ;)

Oh and yeh, I do believe they deserve more recognition... but they're just so arrogant... argh >:(

My brothers got me into them when i was a kid of about 7 or something. They were the first band i ever really loved. Their first 3 albums and the masterplan (bsides) are pure gold.

good, i hoped the search function would bring something up, saves me making threads haha. two of the best singer/songwriters of modern music & only a page of love. i'm like most & love the earlier albums a great deal. their later material is still great though, but those albums are a little 'patchy' to me, some great songs throughout the later albums, just mixed with a couple crappy ones here & there haha

There's Elvis and me. I couldn't say which of the two is best.
