I know pop punk music is generally supposed to be uplifting, but what is the one band that no matter when you play them, it's basically impossible to feel sad.

I've been swamped with finals and personal shit, and I was going through the gallery, found a Socratic background, started playing Lunch For The Sky, and blamo, all better.

I know Cartel used to do the same back in the fall for me.

What are everyone elses?

Relient K. Except for "I So Hate Consequences". That song is sad.

yeah, I can see that.

It's suprising, because alot of the Socratic songs aren't neccesarily happy, but I think it's just the wit in the lyrics that make me laugh....especially Alexandria as Our Lens, so good

Thats it. I start misintrepreting lyrics and thinking stupidly when Im sad so a lot of bands make me even sadder. For example TAI. I cannot listen to them in a sad mood otherwise I get sadder, and sadder...

all pop punk music sounds happy, but most of the time the lyrics arent really. so i usuaslly dont turn to it to make me happy.

Definatly go with The Format, it's near impossible to feel bad when I play them.
The Planet Smashers too, though they're Ska-pop but whatever, still very good.

Brightwood- The Love Antidote
Death Cab For Cutie- Transatlanticism
The Junior Varsity- Wide Eyed
Mae- Destination: Beautiful
Nightmare of You- S/T
Punchline- 37 Anywhere
Pink Floyd- Dark Side Of THe Moon (the amazing-ness of it just makes me forget my cares)

those are my go to albums right now, they always seem to do the job.

This is wierd... I just drove around listening to The Bouncing Souls because I was feeling kind've beat at the moment.

Their albums always get the job done.

oddly enough, though I didn't like the album all that much, it does do taht for me, at least Mad For Medusa does.

haha, especially "Tell that mick...", it doesn't make me feel happy so much, but if it's an anger thing that's got me down, the revenge helps

None. Music doesn't really change my mood completely, all it really does to me is make the mood I am in even stronger (ie: if im really depressed, it will make me more depressed, and if im really happy it will make me even moreso).

as mainstream as they may have become, it is impossible for me to get upset listen to

The Academy Is... - Almost Here.

Utterly impossible. That whole album, aside from Down & Out, is totally upbeat. Just makes me want to croon along with Beckett. I, for one, think he's an amazing vocalist. He needs to eat something though. He is freakishly skinny.

haha, yeah, he is a bit skinny. The problem is, when I am sad, I take the lyrics differently, and in hearing them that way, all the songs are super sad (especially Classifieds, Checkmarks, and Phrase that Pays)

Yeah, park is not very uplifting stuff at all. I love their music and Ladd has a great voice, but I just cant pop them in all the time. Most of my friends cant handle them either, they are good headphones/study music though.

New Found Glory and Allister.

With the notable exception of Allister's "Blackout", both bands are nothing but fun and never cease to get me in a good mood.

I love that cd. If YC did a back to basics tour like Alk3, I'd be all over that tour. Them playing OFTK and their cover of Everywhere was the highlight of my concert experiences

I busted out 'What It Is To Burn' the otherday and that gave me good memories. I'm gonna start listening to this again.
