View Full Version : October MDC: Poll
TJ Wells
09/26/09, 03:00 PM
In honor of Halloween. Remember, you have to vote in the poll (by Wednesday) to be included this month. When we reach 20 people, I will close the thread/MDC for the month. It's a nice, good, even number.
If you vote, you are expected to participate; if you're not willing to, DON'T vote.

Awwwww shit. Might have to get in on this month.
Voted 80s but that's only my current mood. Just seems to suit this time of the year, along with the 70s. I'll be watching a lot of new shit too though.

No wait, you can't close it at 20 TJ! What's the poll? I can't see it on my phone, but I want in.
Edit: And what did you say to me in the poll suggestions thread?

Alright, hope so. I didn't even see the poll last time. But when I get home, I'm voting 80s because I already have a specific movie in mind.
Edit: My plan for October was actually a horror month which is why I suggested it. 60s, 70s, and 80s mostly.

Went with the 1960's b/c there are very few people who have taken the time w/ horror from that era. It won't win, however, which sucks.

Trick 'r Treat? More creepiness/horror, definitely. It's comedy is more in homages. The screenplay is so ridiculously smart and clever that the comedy you usually expect from a movie of its type isn't there. There isn't an ounce of cheese throughout and it is the biggest reason why it works so well. Dougherty's balance is something I've never seen from a first-time horror director. I said it in another thread, but it is damn close to an instant classic for me. I'd love to hear your full thoughts when it's finished.

Worth every bit of the hype, right? So, so, so damn good. My favorite part of the film, actually, was looking in the background of sets for the other main characters while another part of the story was unfolding. Such a treat to watch.

I think most people will do that regardless.
One more spot remaining! I think I'm going to set the limit to 20 a month, that way it doesn't grow too out of control and we can guarantee a partner for everyone.

Hope so. Late at night is a given, but alone might not be as easy to do for some. Being alone is key. I can't wait for my assignment.

Someone'll assign a movie to you (once we get twenty people and I pair everyone up), and ideally you'll have not seen it before.

May I ask, how do you decide on the pairs? Do you put them on Excel and make it random?
