The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer:

Am Aesthetic - (Rob Suchecki)

1. How did you get your band name?
It actually started as A.M. Aesthetic...then everybody pronounced it as Am Aesthetic when they saw us, so we finally just caved. Eventually we hope to make it Amaesthetic and create our own adjective in Webster's dictionary...'I'm feeling very amaesthetic today'.

2. How did this band get started?
It started the day Pat and I quit our last band together haha. We got home from tour (a REALLY ugly tour from hell), and we both mutually decided we couldn't stand to be in that band for another second. So we busted out our guitars and started writing our own songs. Now a year later, here we are.

3. What bands are you influenced by?
I think our individual influences are really different, but as a band I would have to say The Decemberists, Thrice, Wilco, and Jimmy Eat World all are pretty much to blame for how we sound, even if we don't sound like them haha.

4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would it be and why?
The Wonders....I really want to meet Tom Hanks.

5. If you were a furry, what animal would you be? Why that animal?
I would want to be a wooly mammoth, and the only reason I can come up with for that is because it would compensate for my inability to grow a beard...

6. Why should people listen to your band?
All we really ever aim to accomplish when we're writing songs is to make music WE like and want to listen to. We aren't trying to sound like anyone or fit into a scene or anything. It's kind of a bummer for me when bands are interchangeable and sound similar, I tend to like the ones that dare to be weird.

7. If you were chosen to be in Guitar Hero/Rock Band, what song would you want in the game? How hard do you think it would be to five-star on expert?
hmm I would have to go with 'Under Burning Sky', because it has the most riffage going on. I'm thinking it would be really easy to nail on expert though, because I had to make it easy enough to sing over live. On bass it would be pretty difficult though, Pat goes wild on that one. haha

8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
Michael J. Fox, for inspiring me to play guitar with his performance of "Johnny B. Goode" in Back To The Future.

9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
I'd like to see more talent, and less Melodyne.

10. Memorable tour experience?
Getting picked up by a family of strangers in North Carolina when our van broke down on the side of the road, having them drive us to our show an hour away, and then partying with them at their house for 3 days after while our van got fixed. TOTALLY restored my faith in the world, good people still exist!

11. What does AP.net mean to you?
It's where I get all my music news. It's been my homepage for years, and I look forward to checking it everyday to find out about new bands, or to find out what's going on with bands I already like.

I also love how there is no barrier between the artist and the listener, everyone's just looking for good music to discuss.

12. What is your favorite song to play?
I really like playing our song "The Rain", because it's really airy and moody for the most part, and then it kicks into full on rock-out mode at the end, and that's just a good time. haha

13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
I dig the beach, that's my only criteria for a vacation really.

14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
The Offspring, Green Day, The Ataris, Blink, Nirvana, Weezer, Foo Fighters... and let's be real, Metallica.

15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
The ability to freeze time, and I can't say it's for any purpose other than to mess with people... I shouldn't have super powers...

16. Do you feel that your band has "made it"?
If "it" means money....no, we have not made "it." haha

17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
Pat and I have been friends since we were 7 years old... and we haven't killed each other yet!

18. What's your favorite holiday?
Christmas, I'm a junkie for Christmas cookies.

19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I'm really trying to get good at playing the organ right now, I'd like to put that into our music. In addition to that, we play a lot of NHL Hitz 03 and 007 Nightfire. PS2 BABY!!

20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
I retain a lot of really random facts, so I'm really good with trivia... and Pat can juggle really well. No lie.

I really really like this band's music. They need to be listened to by more people. Really looking forward to something I can get my hands on so I can stop having to go to their myspace to hear.
