I heard a lot of negative things about this book, but still decided to buy it anyways. I found it fairly interesting, I'm only about 1/4 of the way through it, but they're touching on a lot of really influential bands. They make the scene seem so much more polite than it actually is, but that's really beside the point. I think a lot of people that are calling thier faviorte bands "Emo" should really read the first few chapters of this book.

It's good. I've read it like 4 times, but I do disagree with a lot of the bands mentioned and terms used. It pisses me off at times.

I only read excerpts of the book at B&N, but I felt that the title, Nothing Feels Good, was a really bad one for a book that is supposed to educate people about emo. Yeah, I know it's a Promise Ring reference, but this only reinforces the idea that emo is a whiny genre to people on the street who know nothing of emo besides what Rolling Stone/MTV call emo.
what i read was pretty interesting though.
