Boys Will Be Boys – The Release
Record Label: BWBB Records
Release Date: August 2, 2009

Boys Will Be Boys have achieved a magnificent feat. They are the first band that I have ever listened to, they are the only artists to sound exactly like another band. Bluntly said, in today's oversaturated, neon-tinged market, Boys Will Be Boys are just another Forever The Sickest Kids ripoff band. Everything from the synth lines, rapid singing with lightly Auto-tuned background vocals, the "crunchy-lite" riffs, even the band's attempts at cleverness indicates that they think Forever The Sickest Kids is a clever band name.

That said, this band is perfect for the kids who want some faux-FTSK to tide them over until the new Forever The Sickest Kids album. "Jaded," though generic, seems like it would've fit nicely on Underdog Alma Mater, while the rest of the effort seem like b-sides from said album.

Overall, this is a very generic release from Boys Will Be Boys. Every song sounds like it would fit on a Forever The Sickest Kids record. This EP might be enough to satisfy fans of said band, but no one else. The band does have skill and potential, though, which is why I expect some originality in the next Boys Will Be Boys effort, or I may have to write this band off for good.

Holy shit, spot on review. I actually refused to listen to these guys originally, now I know why.

They are like a younger clone of FTSK with less members.
Seriously.

Not sure you mentioned FTSK enough; better make a liner note.

Well, they do sound EXACTLY like FTSK. So it is justified. haha
