The Royal Rumble match was just awful. I liked how CM Punk's promos, but at the same time I hated the quick eliminations. The packed in-ring action was good while it lasted, but the favorites just dominated everybody. Edge's return could have been better if he had come in at 30, but I'm glad that he's back (albeit out of shape and probably not 100%). It was nice to see that Shawn, Cena, or Triple H didn't win despite high speculation, but even with the result the match didn't feel right at all. As for the rest of the show, Christian/Jackson and the Orton/Legacy development were pretty nice. Sheamus still managed to look good by kicking Orton after the heated Legacy confrontation so nobody came out looking bad. Can't say anything about Taker/Rey as I missed most of it.

Now to see who Edge will challenge. I still want to see Edge and Jericho feud before it becomes too late.

Shawn vs Taker is pretty much a dead lock, I expect Batista to be thrown into the heavyweight title picture, or challenging Cena if there's nothing else for Cena. Like I said above, don't expect to see the matches you've been reading on other sites for 'Mania.

The rumble just seemed to have gone way too fast. It should have had a little bit of tension between Legacy, as well as more build up to some of the elimination of the favorites. The botched HBK elimination was funny...who knew he'd fall to a tickle instead of a push.

Concerning Santino, I just thought that he was just selling the attack that Swagger gave him. Maybe the medics checking on him were part of the angle?

Matt Hardy is definitely not suspended. His buddy Greg might just be on his way out soon, though.

Then why even watch wrestling if they can't wrestle? I think a wrestler needs to be decent at both before handing him a mic and throwing him in a match.
For example, The Rock had amazing mic skills but when it came down to it, he was horrible in the ring.

While I would agree that mic skills are important, for me they don't really matter. When I watch wrestling I generally watch it the next day, and fast forward through everything but the matches. The in-ring work/athleticism is the only thing that keeps me watching these days

I like watching an entertaining flowing show for two hours instead of 5 matches in two hours, with a bunch of bullshit that I flip to other stations to get away from. Last night's Raw was the best one I've seen since 2008 (maybe even earlier). There were no pointless matches. The matches themselves actually went for more than 5 minutes for the most part (something I've been pissed about for awhile now, if SD can have 15 minute matches, why the hell cant Raw?). And they set up next week's Raw brilliantly, although I'm not excited about HHH/Cena 27. I'm really digging Orton's face turn as well as Sheamus' rampage on Raw, I'm glad he didn't put Christian over, that really would have made him look WEAK going into the Chamber event and Mania. And Shawn Michaels, what can I say? This is the best storyline he's been involved in since his return 8 years ago, I'm really curious to see where this goes with him and Taker.

Jay Lethal will not go to WWE, he's already tried out for them in the past and they have no interest in him.
Next week will be the final ECW airing.
NXT is going to be reality based, so it's not going to be a separate brand like most thought.
Expect the ECW title to stick around for a while as a second-rate title, even though I'm totally against it

I heard they are getting rid of the Survivor Series! LAME. That was always one of my favorite PPVs. WWE said they are going to focus more on gimmick themed PPVs. I hope they bring back War Games, I always liked that concept.

Survivor Series hasn't been relevant since the Montreal incident...the 4 on 4 tag matches have had no purpose for years. Here's a list of the contenders for it's replacement:

WWE Draft: The Draft would be moved to a single night PPV, with Superstars and Divas competing in matches to win draft picks for their respective brands.

Tournament: Single Elimintation "bracket style" tournament where Superstars would compete in multiple matches during the night to become the winner of the tournament

Legends PPV: Each match would feature a WWE Legend

War Games: Teams of 5 Collide in 2 cages!

Street Fight: Main Events would feature a 'Street Fight' stipulation where there are no disqualifications & pin-falls count anywhere. Superstars often compete in street clothes.

Money in the Bank PPV: The main event would be the Money in the Bank ladder match, with qualifying matches earlier in the evening leading to the main event.

Against All Odds' turnout was much better than I expected. Despite the horrible lack of hype, there was lots of solid wrestling (except for the Nastys/Team 3D match of course). I'm glad the Pope is getting a great push here, but TNA needs to do a good job of building him in the next two months. Now we wait and see how TNA develops Destination X for the following weeks considering how little attention the X-Division has received since Hogan came in. I definitely will look forward to AJ vs. Joe in the Ultimate X (if they continue to feud, which they probably will).

I'm happy that they finally got to this stage, but I don't think it's very wise for them to compete in the exact timeslot as Raw. It would fare off much better if they got a lead-in non-competitive hour.

The problem with TNA is that they never know what even they're doing and they treat former WWE employees like Kings and Queens when the real talent there were either rejected by WWE or have no interest. Here is where TNA is dropping the ball:

1) They had a PPV on Valentines Day, I still can't get over that one
2) They're running Impact starting on March 8th head-to-head with WWE instead of 8-10
3) Their next PPV is nothing but mid carders and it's a week before Wrestlemania, I wonder who's going to order 2 PPV's next month?
4) Former WWE talent hog up all the TV time and spotlight, even their own champion is being used more only because of his new mentor, Ric Flair
5) Impact Zone: They need to get the hell out of that building if they want to be taken more seriously
6) Too many gimmick matches (they even had a DQ in a cage match on January 4th, remember that?)
7) Ric Flair claiming he will wrestle again on TNA TV...really? Why do we need to see this?

Damn that must have been awesome to have been able to anticipate a wrestling show at that timeslot and watch quality ring (or out of ring) work all the time. When WWE revived ECW, I knew it wouldn't be the same. It was a great platform for guys like Punk and Miz and gave some quality matches throughout, but forgettable for the most part. Once Heyman left, I stopped tuning in frequently. I liked Big Show's run as ECW Champion and the weekly hardcore (...Extreme Rules, ugh) main events with other stars from other brands. I groaned once I read the news that Paul left and the night just turned out worse once December to Dismember finished. Oh well, may ECW finally R.I.P.

And what's up with no Low Ki on NXT anymore? That sucks. Also surprised that Finlay or Regal aren't trainers. Next season I guess.

Well the interview with Court was so long it was posted in 3 different parts...but basically back in '06, it was Bret still not ready for it and it had a lot to do with Hunter and Shawn constantly talking Vince out of it really. If you can remember, Bret accepted his award at the HOF on Saturday and he was on a plane back to Canada, skipping WM 22. Usually the Hall of Famers make an appearance at Wrestlemania for a spotlight segment, Bret wasn't even included in that. Court also went into detail about how Bret was really distant and had his own locker room when he was there for the ceremony back in 2006.


On another note, I rewatched Raw again and something really didn't sit well with me...during the "injury" angle in the parking lot involving Bret and Superman Cena, while the ambulance was backing up, Michael Cole's very serious, somber voice really brought back bad memories to another somber incident involving another Hart, and then on top of all of it, Cole actually said that it had to be Bret Hart's worst night ever...really? I'm still amazed Bret took part in such an angle that Michael Cole really bent the wrong way with his idiotic comments. I really hate Michael Cole, always have, always will.

Hahaha personally I'd like them to utilize Daniels more as a main eventer, but I know Hogan really doesn't like him. Daniels is one of the nicest guys I've had the privilege to just hang out with out back during a CZW show in Philly about 4 years ago. I still say the man's underrated like a motherfucker

What's everyone's early Wrestlemania predictions for matches/outcomes?

Obviously we're going to get Michaels/Taker II, I think Shawn will somehow replace Morrison this Sunday and the final 3 will be HBK/Taker/Jericho. Shawn eliminates Taker from the match, turns around, takes a codebreaker, 1-2-3 Jericho is the new WHC, which sets up...

Edge vs Jericho: I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Jericho retains here. Personally I'd say there's more money in a Edge/Jericho feud if Edge is chasing Jericho until Summerslam. Edge beating Jericho only 1 month after winning the title is both predictable and a waste of talent IMO

MITB: I'm going to predict The Miz winning, regardless of the other 7 opponents (quit shaking your heads haha)

Cena vs Batista II: Cena goes over, but I really really like where Batista's character is going with this program. He's a natural heel and I like his assassin-esque character we're seeing at the moment

Hart vs McMahon: The big payoff obviously here is the image of Bret putting Vince in the sharpshooter

Sheamus vs Triple H: Before I even touch this subject, I've got a sick feeling that Sheamus is going to drop the strap this Sunday after months of this rumored WM main event. I'd LOVE to see Dibiase win the title Sunday and defend it against Orton at Mania. Sheamus and HHH can still have their match, but do we really need another WM with HHH in the title match? Since WM2000, Hunter has only been in one WM that wasn't for the belt (when he took on Taker at WM17), it's getting old, really fucking old

The only thing I'll criticize is how Hogan's been utilizing WWE elements in TNA since he's taken over, more specifically the "Orlando Screwjob" angle and now Hogan's WWE Hall of Fame ring is part of a storyline. HOGAN, JUST BE ORIGINAL (the last thing we need is a ring-on-a-pole match and I wouldn't put it past Hogan to book such a thing)


As for WWE...4 matches this Sunday? Are all 4 matches on the card really worth $11.25 a match? no new matches were announced on camera at the Smackdown tapings for tonight either

Their problem is all of their good heels are now faces (guys like Angle, Samoa Joe, Nash, Double J) and they have three heels between Anderson, Easy E and Flair/Styles. If they can create something out of AJ Styles and actually get him to be more than an amazing wrestler, then Flair has done his job; however it hasn't been the case so far.

That opening segment with Pope, Styles, and Flair was hot. I don't know how WWE could have let go of Burke. The guy is brilliant.

Something that bothers me is the Band and why they're closing the show. I care much more about any of the other programs (including pussy Abyss) than two washed up guys, Eric Young (who I will never take seriously), and Nash (who isn't cutting it out for me in this feud). Oh well. All in all TNA had a very good show last night.

Expect Batista to somehow get involved to screw Cena over and I think the final two will be Sheamus and Triple H with Sheamus getting the win somehow.

Michaels will superkick Taker, pin him to eliminate him, turning around into a codebreaker, Jericho wins

I want to do my best to get as many wrestlers to sign their spot in the book as possible. I don't have any signatures yet, I was just wondering the best way I would go about doing this. I think a Batista Edge match would be huge, but I don't know if its gonna happen. That tag match is more likely I think, and that Showmiz will most likely retain. We all know Gail Kim deserves it, I hope she gets the title, but than again I hope at some point in the future they get rid of that shitty title entirely and stop having 1 of 4 matches in a PAY PER VIEW being a womans match.

I don't think Kane will win either, but I really wish he'd get a better push than he has for like ummmm 5 years.

I agree with Triple H and Seamus eing the last two, but with Orton in there as well. I think Seamus will retain too even though I dont know why.

As much as I think it would be awesome for Morrison to bull a ridiculous upset, I think Taker will keep it. If not Jericho is the only other person i see winning it.

The Miz cutting a promo on Brian Daniels was pretty cool, he called him an internet sensation and King of the Indies, but a guy with no personality, a loser and the first guy in line at a Star Wars convention. Lol I thought it was cool they gave Daniels some credit he should be the main guy on NXT with The Miz at his side
