I think we saw the end of Jerry Lawler as a commentator. He's getting old, maybe he wanted to be done, so they are gonna use this to write him out. What a way to go though, almost winning the WWE Championship.

Fuck Micheal Cole stopping him. So stupid. Makes sense i guess.

saofan_315
11/29/10, 11:09 PM
I really hope that anyone besides Sheamus wins tonight. He doesn't need it. He is a two time champion with a gigantic feud set up with Triple H whenever he decides to return.
I just got through with RAW and I feel it necessary to quote myself here. First of all, it's fucking stupid to have a two time WWE champion in a KOTR tournament. Second of all, the only reason Sheamus won the tourney was because he's been booked so poorly in the past few months. I spoke the truth when I said literally anyone could win KOTR expect for Sheamus and it would be ok with me.

I didn't mind Sheamus winning the KOTR.

It adds values to his push. Superstars are constantly pushed and then pulled, this reestablishes Sheamus as a Main Eventer.

phillycheese37
11/30/10, 09:42 AM
John Morrison would have made so much more sense. Give him a title shot and a feud with the Miz (who he has history with), and it frees up Sheamus to feud with Triple H when he comes back. Those will be some great matches, regardless if there is a title in the picture or not.

CIMA
11/30/10, 11:12 AM
King Sheamus feuding with 'The King of Kings' Triple H makes sense.

Okay Raw I suppose, would have prefered either Del Rio or Bryan to wrestle 3 times as opposed to Morrison doing so, but the matches were solid enough.

It really dragged in places I thought, the Old school 3 hr Raw really seemed to flow and didnt feel like 3 hours at all, this one did.

Loved seeing King get a title shot, never thought he had a chance to win it, but it was great to see nevertheless. Plus him kicking Cole's ass was a highlight.

Liked the Alex Riley stuff tonight too, loved that he was telling Bryan that he had esentially missed out on a hands free phone.

Also, loved Punk's line about Cody and Pat Patterson having alot in common. :-d Although I'm still not completely sold on his commentary.

WTG
11/30/10, 12:39 PM
Punk on twitter:

"Wasn't happy with my performance tonight. I'll do better next week."

Give him time. He's hilarious, but he's new. He should come out of this with even better mic skills when he returns to wrestling.

phillycheese37
11/30/10, 01:42 PM
I agree. He was brilliant in parts, but after Lawler left, I felt like it was too much pressure on Punk. Especially when Cole went to interfere, leaving Punk as the only voice. I thought that was rushing things a little bit.

RockTheWalls

Just felt like it was so stupid that Cole interfered. Still so pissed haha.

phillycheese37
11/30/10, 03:10 PM
But I guess what none of us have mentioned is this:

Why would you make your WWE Champion look that bad? Granted, Lawler is a hall of famer, but he's still not a young man, and certainly not in the best of shape. Why would you have Miz perform that badly? If he should have lost to Lawler, how is he going to do against the likes of Cena (oh yes, it's coming- and soon), Barrett, and Orton?

WTG
11/30/10, 03:35 PM
Cena lost to Sheamus in a tables match as champion. When it comes to gimmick matches, anything can happen.

WTG
11/30/10, 03:52 PM
My idea for the KOTR.

(This would involve someone from the forum to construct a bracket)

1pt for each match correct.
3pts if you pick the correct winner of the KOTR.

2pts as a bonus if you predict the correct two superstars in the final.

What do you guys think?

Winners of Round 1: Sheamus, John Morrison, Ezekial Jackson, Daniel Bryan
Winners of Round 2: Sheamus, John Morrison
King of the Ring Champion: Sheamus
(edt 7:16)

Round One: John Morrison, Daniel Bryan, Ezekiel Jackson, Sheamus
Round Two: John Morrison, Sheamus
King of the Ring Champion: Sheamus

(7:25)

King of The Ring Predictions:
Quarters: Morrison over Rhodes, Bryan over Del Rio, Jackson over McIntyre, Sheamus over Kingston
Semis: Morrison over Bryan, Sheamus over Jackson
Final: Sheamus over Morrison

NEW picks
Round 1:Morrison, Bryan, McIntyre(even though I feel like Zeke should be squishing him), Sheamus(Although a Kofi small package upset wouldn't surprise me)
Round 2: Morrison, Sheamus
KOTR: Sheamus

These are the winners at 8 pts each if we count it up the way originally proposed (discounting Jackson-McIntyre match, as well as the semis match as Shemus did not wrestle). Four winners...a little too much. There's no way around it either: all four of them picked only Morrison and Sheamus correct in round one, then picked Morrison in 2, then Sheamus in the finals.

Sadly, I move we have to throw out this tourney as a failure...

I don't see how Punk and Jesse "the body" aren't at all similar (at least at this point).

Jesse had command of the mic when he was talking, you knew. I feel Punk was shy/quiet at times. There isn't a great repore with Punk and Cole. Where as Jesse did have Gorilla Monsoon (he's who I remember most or Tony Schavonie [butchered his last name] in WCW).

Granted I didn't watch all of Raw (I fell asleep), but what I saw was a trio still trying to find their niche. They also barely called any of the actual matches. They just sat there and bullshitted haha and gave us dumb trivia questions/answers.

I know; hence why I said at least at this point. I was in no way saying Punk wasn't good. He just isn't as good as Jesse was on the mic... yet.

Punk lacks the confidence and the banter with Cole at this point, I hope that improves at least for now.

12/01/10, 10:48 AM
Yeah...such a waste of a good stable. They were about to put the tag titles on them at one point, then added Miz and Big Show the last second and they won it. I don't know why the WWE dropped the ball so much on them, but it's pretty lame.

aradiantsunrise
12/01/10, 10:49 AM
WWE drops the ball on a lot of things sadly.

CIMA
12/01/10, 10:53 AM
WWE didnt really drop the ball with them, things just happened that caused the stable to end. If serena hadnt fucked up and got released, if both Joey and Punk didnt get injured around the same time then the stable would have had more mileage.

WTG
12/01/10, 10:58 AM
Those injuries and releases happened during the fued with Big Show or after, which is already when the ball had been well on the ground. Because they were fueding (and losing) to the Big Show.

GoWaitInTheCar
12/01/10, 11:18 AM
Serena wouldn't of been cut if the Stable would of been something important, WWE was in the process of dropping the ball already. Look at Alex Riley's DUI. He's absolutely fine because of his relation to the Miz. Gallows / Punk would of been great Tag Champs. SES was over as hell too. Even if they waited and went Gallows / Mecury. I can't think of a bigger dropped ball in the past few years as the SES was.

CIMA
12/01/10, 11:18 AM
The injuries happened as the feud was just starting.

It was just unfortunate timing. Sure the Big Show feud was bad (very bad - I said that during the feud), but the fact is Joey had to have surgery effectively taking him off TV, Serena then got released around the same time and then they decided to just end the group. If those two things hadn't happened, then the group may well have lasted longer.

CIMA

Look at Alex Riley's DUI. He's absolutely fine because of his relation to the Miz.

Serena was released for on-going behavarioul problems, not just 1 incident. She warned not to continue and continued anyway. Thus her release.

The DUI situation is different as it's a 1 off (for now). He's probably been warned not to do it again.

One of the E's largest missed opportunities in the past few years in my opinion. He can work in the ring, has mic skills, has a unique gimmick, and most important of all is constantly one of the most over guys no matter how he was being used. I understand there's only so far you'd want to push an ex-felon in your company, but MVP could have been a lot more than what he was. Hopefully we see him used well in some other company.

iden22

Wasn't MVP the supposed heavy pot user that had his push stopped because of it? I heard MVp asked for his release, so there is potential for him to return at some point.

Right now though I think its for the best, I've felt his character had been stale for awhile, so this way he can disappear for abit and then come back (if he wants to) and his character will be alot fresher.

fwiw as well, I believe his push got killed after he insulted a drug tester, or something like that. Something drug related anyway.

Edge and kane have the most pointless match ever on this weeks smackdown.

Whoever wins their match gets to pick the stipulation for the title match at TLC. Edge won and picked a TLC, which seems utterly pointless as the PPV is TLC so wouldnt the title match have to be a TLC anyway, I realise they dont always have the title matches using the PPV's theme but still it seems rather pointless to have a match to decide the stip just to make it the stip that the PPV is based around

phillycheese37

Rey is in a main event angle with Alberto Del Rio, and he's a main eventer he shouldn't be used as a mid card guy, same with Show.

According to a new report by PWInsider, the situation involving TNA Champion Jeff Hardy at last night’s Final Resolution PPV was described by one TNA source as a “false alarm.” It was determined that Hardy’s behavior backstage that originally alarmed some was simply due to exhaustion. It's been a long time since Shark Boy appeared so it's kinda nice to see him. RVD/Rhino put on a good match for what it was, but the feud is just stalling for RVD's championship rematch. I'm digging Williams's push and even though the TV title is worthless, at least he'll get more in-ring exposure on Impact. It's hard to believe that this is Vladimir's first title in the WWE.

this is telling how shitty the tag division is/how much WWE does not give a fuck about those belts

Apparently when Paul London asked Shane McMahon how he and Brian could get to the next level a few years back, Shane said something along the lines of "Idk, I haven't given a shit about a single tag team since Legion of Doom." I know Shane doesn't work there anymore but lol.

Yes, at the end, when John Cena is destroying the announcer's table, he throws everything for the exception of CM Punk's soda and gives it to him in a very kind way, Punk just grabs it and throws it on the ground with a dead-pan face. Cena also gives Punk one of his wristbands and Punk throws it on Cena's face.

Nice! I wonder why they did that? I know Cena said on his twitter back at the start of Nexus that he was impressed with Punk for coming back in the ring to try to fight them off. Since Cena does twitter in character, that could explain why he was being nice to him.

Last week when Cena put Slater through the table Punk said "Oh good job Cena! you spilled all of my diet soda!" I think that's the reason on why he did the soda thing, the wristband I don't know, maybe because of the twitter thing but the soda thing was pretty damn funny.

CIMA
12/07/10, 06:42 AM
The reason he did the soda thing was because as Cena was putting the steal steps into position Punk is shouting 'My Soda, My Soda' at Cena. So Cena obviously heard that and then moved Punk's soda first.

How are any of those "Pros" qualified for those titles? R-Truth has bombed his entire career; Daniel Bryan has been with the WWE less than a year and has already been fired once; Chris Masters hasn't done anything besides wrestle on Superstars and job since coming back; Ted Dibiase has been treading water for months and has never proven himself as a singles superstar. On Ziggler is slightly qualified, being with the WWE for years and rising up the ranks to a mid-card champion level.

You're thinking about it too much. They are all qualified to be pros because they are WWE pros. As long as someone works for WWE they are considered a pro and therefore eligible for this show.

Its a gimmick anyway, and I'm pretty sure most if not all of these guys aren't actually taking advice from their 'pros'.

Does anyone have a link to any of the matches Baretta and Hawkins have been having on Superstars? I went to the website and they weren't there. I'm more interested in seeing what their entrance themes are and if they get any crowd reaction.

EDIT : I just saw the one from last week, I think it was..

I applaud TNA for doing a really good job hyping and booking the steel cage match with Tara and Mickie James. Glad the division is rebounding.

Kaval went in for an MRI? Uh Ohh..

Chris Masters may be getting that push after all. If Kaval is injured there is nobody left on the face side for Smackdown.

CIMA
12/10/10, 09:33 AM
Really, that sucks for him. Hopefully its nothing too serious, so he wont be out too long.

They could really do with bringing up a couple of new guys from development, as well as pushing Masters and Barretta who I think are the only lower card faces left.

Richie Steamboat, Tyler Black and Orlando Colon would be great additions. That or switch Yoshi Tatsu and Primo (turning him face) over from Raw.

Edit: So yeah I just started watching this weeks Superstars and remembered JTG is on Smackdown

Good call on Xavier Woods, I had forgotten he was in FCW.

On a completely unrelated note, I fail to see how Edge is the babyface in this feud with Kane. He has kidnapped someones father, tormented that person and has generally acted like a complete and utter arsehole.

Honestly, Edge has reached the level where he will be cheered for pretty much anything he does. So, he can be heelish, but get a face reaction (unless fueding with a super-face like Cena or Undertaker).

Supposedly Michael Hayes is in jeopardy of losing his position as Smackdown's head writer. Not surprised since ratings have been terrible and the show has generally not been good. I honestly can't wait for this Edge/Kane feud to end.

I get what you mean, but keep in mind that Edge has always been a tweener no matter whether he's been heel or face. It's just in his character to be (for lack of a better word) edgy and if anyone can get away with the stuff he's doing to Kane, it's Edge (or Randy Orton).
