Its been a long time....I'm not to sure about the ending and some other parts but I like what I have here so far....

The ocean spanned out before me as I stood at the bow and screamed,
my voice lost itself in the depths of the swells,
as we floated along searching for the treasures lost long ago,
we found more inside ourselves than we ever thought possible...

And as the storm rolled in,
we tried to make the best of the darkness,
but when the lightning struck we all went our seperate ways,
and as the boat sank we swam towards the closest land,
hoping to find something more than just trees and sand...

Days went by and nothing changed,
we lived off the land that we claimed,
and tried our best not to blame each other for this predicament,
but as the whispers went around late night fires,
we found our friendships turning into nothing more than alliances,
bent on controlling this situation until the very end....

We found ourselves waiting on the edge of hell,
hoping that someone would come and save us all from fading,
we lost our humanity and as the ash became face paint,
we split into tribes and said goodbye with a war impending,
we were bent on getting revenge for what we thought was foul play...

The day came when there was just a few of us left after the violence crept in,
and took over our minds that had been broken by the weeks or months that we spent on this beach,
hoping someone would see the fires we made,
but no one ever came and we showed that instinct comes when you're down,
and we screamed so loud as we fought each other in the woods that kept us covered,
we killed each other cause we had lost our minds,
and as the time passed by it only got worse...

The day they came there were thrones made of wood,
adorned with the skulls of the dead men lost in the war,
and when they found us alive,
though only a few survived,
they helped us into the ship to take us back home once again,
and though we knew not where we were,
we still think of the days lost in the sand,
fighting invisible demons that stole our friends....

Reminds me of something John Darnielle would write. That is a very good thing.
