I always get questions about my rob dobi shirts and my random band T-shirts by people who shop at Abercrombie and AE (like that's all they wear). And I never know what to say besides 'yeah...'. Today I was wearing a Thursday 'for the workforce, drowning' shirt and she asked me where I shopped. It's a girl and we're like 'casual' friends and all. I know she's not being offensive but, idk? I just said the internet. Then I said 'where do yo shop, baby gap?' because she's real small, then I felt bad.

I guess my point is, does anyone get shit from AE kids about their clothing choice?

Sometimes ya i do...but the people who make rude comments on clothes are the ones who dont like doing something different because they think they wont be accepted by their friends, who really wouldn't be "friends" if they dont like someone because of what they wear...

you are dumb. you know, some people like the clothes. you don't know what goes through everyones mind and you are doing the same thing the people you are describing do.

I have the most random style ever and that is why I get comments.
I really like Ralph Lauren's polo line and then I will wear a shirt I got for $.25 the next day. The only questions I get is why do you have a shirt from a little league team from nebraska. Its never anything bad.

I wear a Girls Gone Wild trucker cap that my friend gave me after she appeared on the tour. People tend to stare at it. Obviously in adulation.

hmm.. i usually wear band t-shirts and hurley shirts and stuff from urban outfitters with funny sayings on it like " F is for Foshizzle". I used to be sort or a prep like 4 years ago. My whole entire closet was mostly abercrombie then i realized that i was happier wearing band tees and hurley stuff and shit like that. My friends would most likely describe me as Alternative. I bought 1 shirt from hollister cause it was a cool shirt that i liked. My friend called me a sell out ..... wtf !? does that really make me a sell out? if i wanna wear hollister or anything else for that matter and i like it then that's all that really matters.

Me. I LOVE American Eagle's clothes. But I also own a decent amount from Hollister. and a large amount of band shirts. and a few things from Tommy Hilfiger.

I own all kinds of crap. I hate this "she shops at AE so she doesn't understand me" crap. I'm a prep all the way.

i get questions aboutthe buttons on my messenger bag a lot. nothing negative though... people are just curious what they're for. it always amuses me when my school "colleagues" stare at them with their faces like, six inches from my bag. they don't recognize any of the bands, so then they just sorta shrug, say something like "cool," & move on with their lives.

i think that this thread would have been better entitled "clothing and its social implications." on the other hand, i don't really agree with the criticism (on the poster's part).

Ya, sometimes I get rude comments for the "emo" or "punk" things i wear from all the preppy kids from my school but I don't really care. I own a good amount of things from AE and a few from Abercrombie and Lacoste but all the kids that "pop the collar" every day are just posers trying to be like all the other "cool" kids. I like to be different so don't worry about any gestures from the other "styles" of people.

I occasionally wear AE too, I don't really care about what I'm wearing, as long as I'm comfortable. I don't get many comments on my clothes, but once I was wearing a BN shirt and was with some friends that had no idea who BN are, they stared and read ''brand new... oooh! I get it, brand new shirt! how clever...''

have you ever considered trying to pretend you're with the video series? Like, you're the new host?
