okay so this isnt exactly the best place to post something like this, but this is for all soccer/football fans. so the england squad just came out earlier today and i'm just dumbfounded by sven picking theo wallcott ahead of jermaine defoe and marcus bent. i think its absolutely shocking to pick a 17 youve never seen play, and relying on arsene wengers comments.

marcus bent is 22 and he is leading englishman goal scorer in the english campaign. its absolutely riduclous i feel. what do you guys think?

Carrick, played DM all season for Spurs and excelled, played against Belarus, didnt do amazingly, but didnt do shit by any means...

so what does Sven do? decide to stick a centreback out of position in DM position, another great call Sven, you truly are a tactical wizard.
why don't we find a defensive midfielder with a broken foot and take him instead? or we could play Hargreaves there, cos you know... he isn't shit or anything is he? maybe we could stick beckham there, because Lennon is the better choice for right wing and you cant leave beckham out!

I really think Carragher is one of England's most over looked players, he has played so weel in the last two years for Liverpool, I really dont think they would of won the champions league last year with out him. But he should't be playing midfield either Carrick would do well there he's also been impressive the last few seasons.

On the Hargreaves note why the hell is he there, has he ever played decently for England, I really dont get how he keeps on getting picked

Hargreaves gets picked because he can play three or four positions if you need him to. Not that he is world class in them, but it's handy if you have him on the bench and you've substituted both of your defenders, then one of those substitues gets hurt. Hargreaves cna come in and play there.

alls i gotta say is the english midfield is one of the strongest i've seen in a while...i love lampard...except for the small fact that he's from chelsea >:(

and like ren989 said, once rooney is game healthy (which is different from just being physically fit) i'd say england has a fighting chance

And before anyone says Theo Walcott, it wasn't him. Theo had a good pass into Crouch. And I liked the foul the first time he was near the ball. Judas was better at it than him with his yellow card on his first tackle.

Hargreaves is shit, but he is more deserving of a place, IMO, than someone like SWP because SWP can play one position decently. Harshites can play multiple positions below decently, but at high enough a level that the team doesn't suffer if he's put in with 15 minutes or so left.
