Which, in your opinion, does Taking Back Sunday care more about?

I don't know... I haven't taken the time to listen to the last two TBS albums.

I don't understand how people can actually select Option 2. They have clearly progressed from record to record. They have said themselves that they progress and are not just going to keep making the same record over and over.

They care about Noah Fawkes, right?

People don't care. If someone isn't impressed by their new album, the album is clearly awful and shows backwards progression. Didn't you know that?

The new album is great. But I love everything they've released. Definite progression.

Why would anyone choose option two? They never made the same album twice, and I think that the progression is pretty clear. Now if it's a good or bad progression, that is the question.

you can tell their progression if you go on plyrics and just look at lyrics from tell all your friends then look at lyrics from new again. theres a big difference

Damn, I wanted to make it in before a Noah joke.

True.
They have said themselves that they progress and are not just going to keep making the same record over and over.
I am God. Based on your logic since I said something it is true.

yes, because its different writers...not necessarily progression.

I think they genuinely play songs they love...unfortunately they're the only ones.

I really don't think they've released the same album over and over again. They've all been pretty different.

Haven't delved into New Again all that much, but what I've heard is average. I haven't really liked them much since they started recording NA. They just seem weird.

Bullshit! I haven't read a damn statement but why do you think people are so undecided on this band.

I can't believe some people think they've made the same record over and over again. You're basically saying Tell all your friends and New Again sound the same.

Personally I haven't given up on TBS I think they have it in them to make another good record. You never know what they'll do.

Refusing to Progress? Isn't that most peoples problem? Each of their albums is pretty different from the others. Maybe you mean "Progress" as in "to get better" instead of "moving on." This poll is confusing.

well the answer is obviously not number 2...... number 1 doesnt fulfill why my answer would be, but it's definitely not number 2 because as many others have stated they' are certainly NOT making the same album over and over again. Now do you want to say they are regressing in ability to write good music? Perhaps...but i dont think they are trying to please anyone, in fact lol I wish they would because my god there last two albums were so flippin' borring.

Can I vote for neither? It's obviously not 2, so I'll vote 1. I'd rather them make the same album over and over again than create something worse than the previous album.

1. Yes, actually you can.
2. Taking Back Sunday doesn't care about what you want.

I never said that they did.

TBH, I think they have evolved...but in a way that I find less enjoyable.

I wish i could've chosen neither.
In terms of progression, it is definitely there. But I feel they've gotten more "mainstream rock" as a progression - which for many of the bands I enjoy is the last way they'd go (Ex. Brand New, Thrice, mewithoutYou, Thursday).
Don't get me wrong, I still really like the new album and I feel like it gets an unfair hatred. It really has some pretty great songs. But it's hardly progression like Brand New or Thrice have progressed, which I suppose is the gold standard.
Either way, still love Taking Back Sunday, although it's pretty fucking weird not having a second vocalist - Does it hurt their previously kick ass live show? This last show was the first time I have missed them in my area in probably 5 years, minus that Linkin Park package.
I've met Eddie and he's a down to earth guy, and he felt pretty strongly about the quality of these songs. And honestly, the album is probably the heaviest the band has been since a few TAYF songs. But I don't think it was meant as a progression - it's just the band playing what they wanted - some pretty good up tempo rock jams.

That is a dumb option #2. They wouldn't accumulate mass amounts of criticism from different people for different records if they were producing the same album over and over...

disregarding how i feel about their work in a musically critical way, i think this is an unfair poll to them, or atleast adam, the last man standing. maybe there should have been an "op is ignorant" option.

Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
This.
I don't see how any of us could answer this question since most of us don't know any of the members of Taking Back Sunday on a personal level.
Also, if Taking Back Sunday is "making the same album over and over", why do so many people on here bitch about them not sounding like TAYF anymore?

People that make polls on this site are so dumb a majority of the time.

well it's obviously not option 2. people won't stop complaining about them not making the same album over and over again. i think they've already made a career out of playing music (very obviously), and they certainly have evolved. whether it's music they love, or we love for that matter, is a different question.

The first option even though the music is no good anymore

I thought about it, but it's irrelevent to the poll.
And also, anyone who voted number two obviously thinks they're clever, or they don't know what the hell they're talking about.
