Win to Lose, an up and coming Alt Pop Rock teen band located in Northern NJ is currently seeking a new lead singer and lead guitarist. You can hear some of our previous recordings on Myspace.com/wintolose We are looking to create a Jack's Mannequin/All Time Low kind of sound. With a good guitarist we would be looking to add more distortion and palm muting in verses. We are a piano rock band with some very talented musicians. The keyboardist and drummer have both been playing for 10 years (the drummer has been offered multiple drum deals) the bass player has been playing for 5 and the other guitarist has been playing 3. You must be good at what you do and have a good look. We ARE going for that sorta boy band look because that's what is getting most BOY BANDS signed nowadays (along with the ability to put on a good show and write good music). Nothing extreme...We're just saying don't show up in a slayer t-shirt, black jeans, and your lip pierced. We are very serious about what we do so please... serious inquires only! We are currently on ITUNES and AMAZON MUSIC and have gigged at multiple band jams, a battle, at we also SIX FLAGS last month. We were the only teen band this year to be invited to play there. Damn...I'm not trying to start problems with people over the internet but what's with the 20,21,22 yr olds who have enough time to comment on something they have no interest in or something you've got nothing positive to speak about. Well it looks like I cant win with you guys and I'm not about to argue with you over the internet but I have a question. Do you have a teen band ages 14-19? If you do...are people buying your stuff on itunes? And were you invited to play Six Flags?? See....the only problem I have with your comments is that you have little if nothing to back them up. I understand if you are a professional critic and are trying to help by giving advice to different bands but as far as I'm concerned...I've accomplished a decent amount with this band at a pretty young age. All I'm saying is keep your eyes out for us in the future. Once again if you could please refrain from the negative comments I'd appreciate it. Thank you

Also, there aren't cellos in jazz bands, sorry mate, and it takes a lot more musical skill to master the cello than it does to master the guitar. Just saying.
And to the OP, you chose a really bad way to advertise your openings, for this site. If you're looking for a singer, just say what your influences are, what experience you have, what your plans are, and where you're located, and keep the rest of the information as stuff to tell anyone who actually applies. Calling yourself a "teen band" repeatedly makes it sound like you're labeling yourself as a gimmick. When people call a band a "teen band", at least in my experience, it's typically has a negative connotation attached to it, so I think you could do without that. And responding to every negative post isn't going to get you anywhere either. Just be professional and cordial, even if no one else is, and you might just impress someone enough to look past you labeling yourself as a "teen band" and implying that kids in Metalicca shirts can't be considered because of the way they dress, which comes off as rather shallow, ya know?

-i'm going to be paying for cello lessons as a matter of fact because i decided to start a "teen" band in high school rather than real band. if i could go back and get free lessons like i was offered through out school then i would be all over it.
-if you're going to post anything on here, you've got to realize the only people replying are hiding behind a computer screen whether they have anything to hide or not so take it all with a grain of salt.
-regardless, you don't want a singer for your band (especially from this site) unless you know them personally. we are dicks to work with and usually have our own motives. we never found a singer so i took it upon myself to take lessons and improve in the areas that i needed work on. i'd rather do that again a thousand times than risk having a random stranger being the image of my music.
-you might not want to necessarily market yourself as a teen band because you've got one year left as a teen. then what? a quarter life crisis band?
just some things to consider.

Definately gotta agree with him. You really shouldn't post a thread on an extremely popular forum and not expect feedback, both positive and negative. But telling people not to post, completely defeats the purpose of a forum/message board.

Im going to be blunt when I say these kids are not going to go anywhere. If you don't even like the music your producing (or making it to get famous, and be "marketable") as opposed to loving the music and trying to make it a career without any expectations of being "famous." Well, thats all I can gather from what I hear.
