the last two days have been depressing. i knew the winning had to eventually come to an end, but i didnt expect it to be this bad. they got to win the next two too make this a series.

man that last goal in ot as insane. if the devils defensemen hadnt knocked the puck away marty would have had a chance.

yah the devils really are the better team, the puck just isnt bouncing the right way for them.

thats kind of hard to believe when they lost the first game 6-0 and they were outplayed most of game 2 (outshot 38-23)

shots dont tell the whole story. devils were much more physical...literally beating up on some of the canes. making much crisper passes...beating canes to the puck and were playing solid d.

plus even the announcers admitted the canes were taking way too many bad angle and stupid shots.

Yea i have. Ive watched the Devils get their asses handed to them in game 1 and I watched Carolina control the thrid period until the devils got a lucky goal to go ahead. Shots dont tell the whole story, i agree with that, but when your outshot by 15 it is usually pretty indicative of who played better. Carolina outshot them 12-4 in the 2nd period and 15-5 in the 3rd period. I dont care what team is playing, but if youre only getting 4 and 5 shots a period, the puck not bouncing for you isnt why youre losing. And those bad angle shots that Carolina were taking were going in during game 1, so why not continue to take them?

i don't think it's been as bad as it seems. 2 goals in game 1 were deflections of devils/brodeur. and the brind'amour rebound goal late went of brodeur's glove. they came back impressively and where 3 seconds from a win. definitely being down 2-0 is bad, but it hasn't exactly been as bad as Colorado/Anaheim, where the Av's got run for 2 straight games by the ducks. i fully expect the devils to take game 3 at home. but i do think carolina will win the series.
