E3 2006: Light Gun On The Way! New peripheral to team up with the latest Duck Hunt sequel!

May 10, 2006 - IGN has learned that Nintendo will be showing a gun peripheral for the Nintendo Wii in conjunction with the "new generation" Duck Hunt (http://revolution.ign.com/objects/827/827190.html) sequel. Allegedly, the device will work along with the Wii-mote to create the classic feel of the original NES classic, although there is still a chance of an entire "stand-alone" unit. We have yet to go hands-on with the peripheral, but will be sure to add impressions and media when the chance arrives.

Holy shit! Duck Hunt playable at E3! A New one! This means Smash can also be on the floor since this wasn't announced either! Wow fucking awesome.

SHIT here it is.

The shell, which looks to be very simple in design, and hopefully cheap because of it, is a basic plug adapter for the "device out" port on the bottom of the Wii-mote. The controller looks to be very light and basic, offering a trigger hole which most likely will simulate the B button on the underside of the Wii-mote, as well as an analog stick on the top of the handle. We've got a first-look at the controller below, but will most likely have more official shots as soon as possible.

The possibilities are endless. Awesome!

As you can see, the controller is amazingly basic, but allows for an entirely new breed of Wii gaming. The shell takes the simplicity of the main controller, and adds an additional analog stick, which could make a new FPS/Light Gun hybrid the next big thing.

It's probably not going to be a seperate gun. Nintendo made the Wii have a jack on the bottom for attachments. This is a mockup somone had made. I am thinking it will be pretty similar.

I think they mean Camelot's Golden Sun, but if this is true, I will be in heaven.

Well its just kind of like a small plastic attachment, it's not nessicary, also that's just a fan mockup. Though it's not needed for the game, its more of an optional thing becuase it's sweet.
