Regardless of party, I dont think i could ever elect a President named Jeb.
unfortunately, unless the democrats find a strong candidate that doesnt make weird noises, or rudy giuliani runs on the republican ticket, jeb actually has a really good chance of being this nation's president. statistically speaking, governors win presidential elections far more often than congressional members by quite the large margin. however, giuliani most likely won't run, hillary clinton is unfortunately a pretty strong frontrunner for the democratic ticket, which isn't unfortunate because she is a woman but insead because she is a weak candidate and a shitty senator that really has no political credibility although her being a woman will most likely hinder her in most red states, and the world will more than likely me graced with the presence of president jeb bush.

Even when you major in something in college, you take backcore classes for a foundation. So you don't get to just ignore everything. Haha. At that age, I can't see why making someone specialize in something could be a good idea for the masses (as a whole). Some kids are smart/independent enough that they know what they want to do (raises hand) but no way should everyone be doing that. The pandimonium that would occur if you tried to get my sister to figure out what she (in a sense) wanted to specialize in for the rest of her life at 16? That's madness. And she's the smartest girl I know ... seriously.

Paying $3 for a gallon of gas is fine for you? That's one thing that ANYONE who is running for office needs to take care of: stop the MONOPOLY that is EXXON-mobil. Our country was set up years ago to prevent one company from becoming a monopoly like this. That's the reason our prices are so high, if you start at the top it will all fall from there.

Following my earlier point (I like green) - let's see some more movements in that area. I'm actually PRO the gas going up (mind fuck for everyone) because it will cause car companies to make more efficient cars in order to sell any of them ... I'd love to see + $5 gas. Seriously, the market would have to adjust and we'd see some awesome 50-60 MPG (non-ugly) cars.
Of course, I don't like the Oil tycoons getting rich as shit in the meantime, but the ends justify the means.
(It's easy to say this seeing as I don't drive anywhere. I have a Jeep that I inherited from my parents for a graduation present and it costs me $60 to fill it up. Soooooooooooo, I don't go much anywhere lately (I need a bike so I can get to the movie store quicker).)

I refuse to doubt the idiocy of the american public again.
umm, well i know ill get ripped or whatever, but my care balloon just popped two seconds ago so here it goes:
Fact is we sorta had to keep G.W. in office for a second term for many reasons, i'll just focus on Iraq. Im not saying we were justified to go into Iraq but we were there and we couldnt shift ideologies once we were already "removing" the tyranic reign of Sadam. Mainly because if we elected kerry, (who should of won if he would of just stopped babbling in the debates and stayed on topic) he would of most likely have done everything in his power to get troops out in order to gain the good graces of the american public.
However here lies a problem, we couldnt leave because the rest of the world would of looked at us as if we were bigger jackasses for going into Iraq and trying to fix it----failing, then leaving it in bigger shambles then it was before we infultrated it. We needed to maintain credibility on a worldwide level and pulling out of Iraq would of pretty much disolved every lil bit we had left. Granted at first we had a good deal of sympathy because of 9/11 but that is going away seeing as we havent found weapons of mass destruction.
Say if Kerry were to keep the troops in Iraq, bottom line is Liberals can't fight wars as efficiently as Republicans. Again i know im going to be ripped for that comment because its pretty broad and you can argue your points, fact is your wrong. Plus the aformentioned change in ideology would of demoralized our troops (as if they havent already gone through enough) even more. Our whole purpose would be misconstrued. I dunno i just think it was probably better that bush was elected again due to the mess he had already gotton us into...
Your probably all thinking im a republican at this stage in the game who is narrow minded and a dick. truth is, im really not....I guess you could call me a moderate or just a realist, i live in boston so no matter what if i voted in 2004 (which i chose not to) Kerry would of one the electoral but im open minded enough to look at both sides and once this mess is over i look forward to maybe getting decent candidates in office in '08.
p.s. NADER WOOOOHOOOO, or better yet Ross Perot....im kidding
or am i?......... dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnn

Believe me dude, I'm as poor as anyone on here, and can't afford $3.00 a gallon. But you gotta realize, the president of the United States doesn't sit around and dictate the oil price of the day. Sure, his foreign policies can influence the price of oil. But when people like OPEC are the main reason for such high prices, and this nutjob Ahmadinejad is the leader of a country like Iran, the market gets pretty damn nervous about the future oil supply. There's a lot of reasons for oil prices being so high...but to believe that the President is the reason for it (whether a Republican or a Democrat) is just plain wrong. It's basic economics and geopolitics.
And plus, EXXON-Mobil is not a monopoly. There are other major gas companies out there. The real monopoly is oil itself. But as soon as anyone on here can discover a reliable, efficient, economical way to replace it, I'd love to get in touch with you. I'll be one of your financial backers...I promise.

You do know that US Gas prices are artificially low, right?
Jeb Bush and George Bush aren't the same person. It's silly to say you'd be scared if he runs just because of his last name. The gasoline thing sucks, and I hate it. But if you look at it, people are paying that much for gas when they can just as easily take the bus, ride a bike, etc... In Europe it's way more expensive than it is here, so it could be a lot worse.
Hillary Clinton running would in my opinion be awful. I don't like her politics, and I don't like how she basically jumps around trying to please the far left and then try to come back and sound like she's moderate. If she wins Republicans will be up in arms for obvious reasons. And I feel if she loses it will further the divide between the people in America because Democrats will be pissed she lost and have some sort of theory as to why. This country can't run smoothly in the current climate with somebody who sways far from the middle. Even as a Republican, I wouldn't mind at all to see Mark Warner be the next president. He's pretty middle of the road, and I think would appeal to lots of people both Republican and Democrat.

Paying $3 for a gallon of gas is fine for you? That's one thing that ANYONE who is running for office needs to take care of: stop the MONOPOLY that is EXXON-mobil. Our country was set up years ago to prevent one company from becoming a monopoly like this. That's the reason our prices are so high, if you start at the top it will all fall from there.
first of all 3 dollars is jack shit to other countries... 8 dollars sound good? thats what europe pays... and its not a MONOPOLY its what we call an OLIGOPOLY you will learn that enventually, there are very few players not one

I don't know .. I took a few of those silly classes in college. Was I paying attention though, hmmm, I don't remember. I was probably too busy with my hemp, journey albums, and burning the American flag.
Stereotypes are fun.
Wait I'm confused
I refuse to doubt the idiocy of the american public again.

I actually think that is a great idea. Stop forcing kids to do things they don't really want to... let them find a "major" and focus on things that actually interest them... like they do with college.
Thats a really bad idea in my opinion. Highschool is all about being a little bit of everything. It is basic things you might use on all levels. It's almost like a spring board into deciding certain things about how you want to pursue higher education or don't want to at all. I think it has to stay this way

Too bad it often times ending up being a lot of nothing. And when that happens, not only is it an enormous waste of time, money, and resource, but you also have kids leaving school completely unprepared.

Jeb would be an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS president. Worse than Dumbya, Jeb is a committed neocon thug who is a part of Project of A New American Century. Look what the dangerous philosophy, neoconservatism, got us today. Fuck Hillary "No Flag Burning" Clinton or John "I speak at Falwell's university" McCain, corporate candidates. I will probabl;y write in "Marcos" or "Hugo Chavez" for the 2008 election.
if you like chavez so much why dont you move to venezuela? you have a dangerously contorted view of reality and your hatred toward the right, and even moderate left is just as deplorable as the christian far right and the way they try to force god and religion into government policy.

although you raise an interesting point, i don't think bush had to say anything...im not sure if the question was asked and this his reply or what..if it was then i understand your point. Hes obviously not going to express any sentiments like "Oh Jeb would be a shitty president"...but if this was just G.W. rambling then there was no need to promote his brother he should be busy choking on a pretzel or better yet running the country
P.S. i didnt read the article because after the rep. that G.W. has built up i doubt we will see Jeb in office.

I like Hugo myself, get off hugo's back just because he was democratically ellected and is in the process of changing venezuela's government to being leftist. It's crap like this that makes me mad all this bitching about Hugo and Fidel. I've been down their I've also been to Haiti and other parts of South America and the Carribbean and all I ever hear about is bad things about Hugo Chavez and Fidel Casto, this from people who have never stepped foot into Cuba or Venezuela (although I have never been to cuba because of the embargo, but hope to when I go to the Grand Caymens summer 07 if I can get a temporary passport as a Grand Caymen Citizen.) It's great though that everyone has so much interest in the countries government and the way things are ran.
If you have some time check out this link http://www.justiceforjean.com/, its one of the official sites in support of Jean Dominique a radio journalist that was murdered for his political views among other things and the injustice thats taking place in Haiti.

I shall i just hope the new laws about cuban's are still the same as they were last summer were if you have opened your box and have smoked atleast two to show its for personal use you can bring them into the usa. If you like cuban's i suggest http://www.cigar.com/cigars/viewcigar.asp?brand=276, they taste just like cuban's. There made in the Dominican Republic and have a Dominican wrapper, but the tobacco is all from cuban seed so its basically the same just 3/4th the cost of a cohiba.
