May 10, 2006 - Nintendo just pulled a fast one on us. At an after-hours press briefing a mere minute ago, the company pulled another ace out of its sleeve: Smash Bros. Brawl -- the next installment in Nintendo's popular Super Smash Bros. series.

Details are just now rolling in, but we have confirmed the following playable characters:

# Pit (Kid Icarus)
# Solid Snake (Metal Gear Solid)
# Zero Suit Samus (Metroid)
# Meta-Knight (Kirby)

my friend and i were talking about this. cloud has to be in it. his first limit break in the game would be his mid air jump, meteorain would be his down b attack etc. it should be play 200 vs battles to get cloud, play as cloud 100 times to get sephiroth

I doubt Sonic is going to be added since he's going to be in that Mario and Sonic Olympics game due out sometime this year I think. Personally I'd rather see him in Smash Bros., but I'm happy to finally see them both in the same game no matter what it is.

They are business thinkers we have to remember so the big ones will be spaced months apart and I think Galaxy makes more sense as the holiday release than SSBB...although I suppose they could release Metroid in July, SSBB in October, and Galaxy in November, but I just dont think it will happen that way.

Agreed I actually already have 6 games haha

Zelda: Definitely worth it, the best game on the system by far (9/10)

Paper Mario: Good game overall, gamecube Paper Mario was better (8/10)

Need for Speed Carbon: Pretty good game if you like racers (7.5/10)

Tiger Woods Golf: It is an alright game, lots to do, much improvement needed (7/10)

Wario Ware: Good for party's I suppose (7.5/10)

Wii Play: Does this even count? Terrible (2/10, only gets points for including a wiimote).

I'm looking forward to Mario Party 8 and would like to get Godfather soon.

i don't think that's going to happened... the game has to be released before the end of the year, and i definitely won't be in december because that would be too late for a "holiday game". and metroid is being released late august (27th i think), so look for smash to be out sometime close to that... my guess is mid october

You're actually probably right. You could probably unlock him by beating the arcade mode or whatever with Wario, and getting a new challenger once you win at the end, which would be Waluigi.

They've been advertising it for awhile.
Yeah it does sound like a lot of people, but then you'll be playing on much bigger levels and you'll have your own screen to focus in on you, and not the whole level.
