Green Days new stuff isnt even close to being as great as the old stuff. But the worst thing is that they think they are great now!!!

i agree to a point. dookie and kerplunk are my two favorites, but that's not to say that American Idiot isn't great. The problem is that it doesn't have the lasting appeal of the other two albums and it was extremely overplayed.

yep. american idot is a really good album, but I can hardly listen to it anymore

My tastes have changed so much since I originally got into Green Day to a point where I don't find much of their music very interesting. They still write the occasional good song but AI didn't capture me at all.

American Idiot has some spectacular songs, but it also has some pretty bad ones.

wow, i thought i was the only one who thought this. AI is good, but so overplayed and will never be as good as Insomniac, which imo their best cd

fame went to there heads i really liked green day but american idiot just ruined it i cant even listen to it i dont think its because cd is bad because its not really terrible just its soooooo over played

I like American Idiot, I just don't like the fan base it's gained them and I do prefer their older stuff.

I liked American Idiot.

Insomniac and Dookie are my favorite of all their albums, though.

You realize that Dookie sold 10 million copies, right? And that they were just as famous ten years ago as they were now?

And their fanbase back then still included little kids and parents and casual radio listeners. Hell, I loved Dookie when it first came out, and I was 8 years old or something.

Am I the only one here who just never could get into Green Day? None of their music ever did it for me. It was always fun listening to the albums driving around with my friends, but they had no staying power with me.

i don't really like dookie

i like american idiot (though I don't really listen to the radio so it never got over played to me)

i like insomniac more.

and i actually liked warning.

kerplunk and dookie have managed to still be listenable today, and I still love them. That's quite a feat of staying power, in my opinion.

There really isn't a Green Day album that I don't like.

I prefer Green Days older stuff as well. I also agree that they are way too commercial now, and they seem to be played every 5 minutes on the radio. American idiot is still a good album, just not as good as Dookie etc.
