This has got to be the best post I've read in a while. I used to watch David the gnome alll the time and none of my friends remember it. I also loved noozles (kalika they had koala bears!) and skinnamarinkidinkidink blah blah blah for the elephant show. Ohhh and wild and crazy kids was fun to watch. I also remember watching welcome freshman and roundhouse. Are you afraid of the dark also owns. Anybody remember the little bits or Mya the bee?

I loved Swift the fox from David the Gnome, and those trolls scared me to death!! Is the koala bear one the one that would always eat eucalpytus leaves and there was that lizard thing? If not, anybody remember that cartoon?

Yeah that was the noozles. The koala bears slept outside the girls window and they got real weak if they didn't eat their eucalyptus plants. i don't remember a lizard but who knows...

noozles was my favorite for a very long time. they were stuffed animals to everyone else, but to the little girl, if she rubbed her nose on their nose, they would come alive.
while this was a great show, it instilled a belief in my naive young mind that my stuffed animals could come alive with a mere nose rub.
it never worked though, so i assumed that they came alive while i was asleep. damn them, they were so fast to fall back asleep once i woke up...havent caught them yet...but i will....i will....

Second. In reply to whoever it was that asked about The Tomorrow People, I LOVED THAT SHOW!!! I don't think Nickelodeon was behind the making of that show though. I think some British network made it and Nickelodeon carried the show in the US. I still have some of those episodes on tape somewhere in my house.

Last but not least...
I liked Pete and Pete better than Salute Your Shorts. Pete and Pete was an entirely original idea with an awesome plot behind every episode. Even though Salute Your Shorts was close behind, it just seemed like Nickelodeon's version of Saved By The Bell, only set in a summer camp, but mad props go out to both.

hey dude was about this group of kids that worked on mr ernst's ranch during the summer. they were: ted (david lascher, who later went on to do blossom, white squall and others), brad, melody (who is christine taylor, married to ben stiller and was in brady bunch movie and zoolander), danny the indian guy, buddy the ugly kid and his dog (buddy was mr ernst's son). and then there were two guys that were added later. one was supposed to be buddy's cousin. i think his name was...jake? and the other guy's name i dont remember. ted and brad were always flirting, but melody was way cooler.
my favorite episode was when they played capture the flag. it was great. the show was just basically about these kids working at the ranch, the mishaps they got themselves into and the hilarity that ensued. fine family entertainment.

and im gonna hafta say that i agree with you there on the pete and pete vs salute your shorts thing. pete and pete had this intelligence to it that takes the sophistication of an older person to truly understand, yet was still young enough in its humor to appeal to the younger crowd.
simply brilliant programming that you just dont see very often these days....
