gotta go for it here...on the road, based on how the D has played...a FG doesn't do a lot

Lame.

Drew Beringer

I'm just going to resign to the fact that none of my teams are ever going to be good and just hope we win seven games.

Packers 3rd down D looks like the Chargers

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:00 PM
Now I am just hoping Thompson and McCarthy get the boot at the end of the season and we bring back Holmgren haha

Looking at their schedule, it's possible for them to go 9-7 but 8-8 is more likely.

I've learned not to get excited about the Badgers due to how they've choked in years past.

I can see the Badgers beating OSU and losing to Iowa. They would do that.

Al Harris once again proving he is the most overrated CB in the NFL.

Drew Beringer

6 sacks on Rodgers tonight, unreal.

Drew Beringer

Ashamed to be a Packers fan, thank you Ted Thompson for putting together the worst line in the NFL and for drafting awful players. Way to set back the franchise 5 years.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:12 PM
Brett Favre is making Ted Thompson look like the biggest moron ever.

IAmNietzche
10/05/09, 08:15 PM
So much B. Favre wenis being gobbled.

TEAMRAMROD
10/05/09, 08:15 PM
Wow. What a play by 22 on the Vikes. Got knocked down and still made the play.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:16 PM
well he is having a great game. Vikings look really good at 4-0, but they still haven't played a good team yet. haha

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:19 PM
fucking awful.

preppyak
10/05/09, 08:19 PM
wow, what is he thinking not throwing that ball...even if its out of bounds...you CANNOT hold that ball in the end zone

poppa Q

This game has been a huge disappointment...not enough AP, too much BF dick-chompin', embarrassing GB O-line.

IAmNietzche
10/05/09, 08:21 PM
Rodgers gave in to the hype.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:23 PM
Sucks that Rodgers didn't play well. Just adding more pressure to himself. He is notorious for holding on to the ball for too long, and combine that with the worst offensive line in the league, and you have a recipe for disaster.

TEAMRAMROD
10/05/09, 08:24 PM
19 sacks in 4 games?

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:27 PM

Making the Steelers O-line of last year look like professionals in comparison

TEAMRAMROD

Indeed.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:31 PM
Man, I feel bad for Rodgers..
I don't. I don't feel bad for any of these motherfuckers, they get paid millions of dollars to play a game. He needs to step up his game, throughout his young career he has not risen up to the occasion.

Whenever he has more than 3 seconds to throw he's made great plays.

Whenever he has more than 3 seconds to throw he's made great plays.
he still has a lot to learn, he is a good quarterback for sure and my favorite player, but he needs to improve in the intangibles department.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:39 PM
oh hey, not kicking that FG on fourth and goal really hurts now.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:41 PM
well, and obviously the dropped TD by Lee is the most hurtful play of the game for Green Bay, but a smart coach takes the points on the road in that situation.

TEAMRAMROD
10/05/09, 08:41 PM
Haha this is brutal.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:44 PM
too little too late, I hope Donald Lee hates himself.

preppyak
10/05/09, 08:45 PM
still a chance for the Packers...but highly unlikely. And I disagree Drew, you still go for that play on 4th and goal because if you kick the FG, you are still 2TDs (or a TD-2pt-FG) away from them, and your defense had done nothing to prove the Vikings wouldn't at least get a FG in response. A better 3rd down call probably helps though

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:46 PM
Packers should kick a FG here and try for the onside kick.

but it was in the third quarter with a lot of game left, I go for the points.

preppyak
10/05/09, 08:47 PM
now they gotta kick the FG and hope for the onside

poppa Q
10/05/09, 08:47 PM
I'd still rather have Favre than Rodgers...this will likely be Favre's best game of the year, and he would look even worse than Rodgers is right now if he was in the white jersey.

Sarcasm
10/05/09, 08:47 PM
I say they go for this one, then try. They still have a chance.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:48 PM
another sack, JUST KICK THE FG AND TRY THE ONSIDE KICK

preppyak
10/05/09, 08:48 PM
jesus...why do you not kick the FG before that play...
but it was in the third quarter with a lot of game left, I go for the points.
I can see that...but based on the flow of the game, it didn't look promising that 3pts would be enough to keep up

And the packers just wasted a full minute getting sacked and wasting plays...to get the same distance FG

MyWorldEntire
10/05/09, 08:48 PM
Jared Allen, jesus christ.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 08:48 PM
kick the field goal save the clock kick the field goal save the clock

Drew Beringer

more like 2 weeks to let those O-linemen clear out their lockers and bring in the replacements...you'd think you'd be able to find Jared Allen on one of those 4.5 sacks

10/05/09, 08:56 PM
Awful. Awful. Awful.

What it comes down to is that the Vikings have an awesome offensive line and the Packers don't. Doesn't matter who the QB was for the Packers, Favre would have been sacked just as many times tonight if he was a Packer.

Thankfully the Packers held Peterson. Got a win in Fantasy football thanks to that.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 09:00 PM
As awful as the Packers were, they were one Donald Lee dropped TD pass from maybe winning the game. I know, woulda coulda shoulda.

Bottom line: Donald Lee is a piece of shit.

Brett Favre would be in the morgue right now if he started this game for the Packers. I've been watching them for 20 years and I've never seen the O-line play like this. I'm still convinced Favre will throw a back-breaking, boneheaded, game ending INT one of these weeks, but the wait is getting annoyingly long.

watching the replay highlights that call on Woodson was awful, that changed the game.
no it didn't.

There were two penalties on the play, one Packers offsides as well, so the play really didn't matter.

Drew Beringer
10/05/09, 09:09 PM
This is why the Packers lost:
- awful offensive line, no protection
- Rodger's two turnovers inside the 30
- no pass rush on defense, secondary got carved up
- not scoring from the 1/McCarthy's decision to go for it/Donald Lee being a failure at life.

Pretty much everything went wrong for the Packers and they were still kinda in the game.
