Red Sox in 4.
Buchholz is the game three starter. (http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/baseball/story/126696.html) I'm not totally sure how I feel about that given his last two starts vs. how Dice-K has performed lately.

saw that today about Bucholz, am i'm a little worried as well.
when that dude's on, he's ON, but his last two starts were rough.
excited about lester in game one though, should be a good game.

Angels' rotation is Lackey, Weaver, Kazmir, Saunders.
im gonna go sox in 5 even though im a yankees fan. if the yankees were to advance than id hate too see either team in the 2nd round but the yanks can handle the sox

i HATE the red sox and I think they are going to lose. Beckett is not the same pitcher and ortiz isn't the same player either. Jason bay is a nice player but strikes out too much. Lackey, and Kazmir will play well and the angels hitters are as good as any teams. So I'll say Angels in 5.
Despite the history, I'm pretty scared about this series. I think it'll go 5 either way, I hope the Sox can take it.

It will be 1000 times more fun rooting for the Central champ than either team in this series that happens every year between teams who have both won titles in recent memory.
I'm pumped for this series as always. Let's hope they can ride that win streak into the playoffs.

he was recruited to play QB there but never went
Holliday was recruited out of Stillwater High School in Oklahoma to play quarterback at Oklahoma State, but he chose to sign with the Colorado Rockies and was signed by scout Pat Daugherty.[5] As a senior, Holliday earned All-American honors in football and baseball and also earned his region's Gatorade Player of the Year award in both sports.[5] He also competed for the 1997 USA Junior National Team.[5]
On December 14, 2007, Holliday had his #24 high school jersey retired in a ceremony at Stillwater High School.[6] Businesses in Stillwater were also asked to honor Holliday that day by posting a "Welcome Home Matt Holliday" message on a marquee or window.[6]

the angels' starting pitching is really iffy. outside of lackey and weaver there's not much to write home about and even then with those two guys it's a roll of the dice to see who shows up. both guys can either flash dominance or throw a clunker.

kazmir has been money against the red sox and yankees and is very good in fenway. saunders is 6-0 with an era around 3 since coming off of the dl so its not like we're putting out lame ducks in our 2 games in fenway. this series is so far from over but i don't know if you can just throw us under the bus for the 2 games in fenway.

24 of papelbon's 25 pitches (excluding int. walk) in the 9th were 4-seamers...angels were just sitting fastball the whole time.

lol Red Sox get swept.
Oof. Tough way to end a season, but the Angels hit better, pitched better, played better defense and had more energy, while the Sox barely even showed a pulse.

Sox didn't really show a pulse the entire second half of the season. I predicted they'd lose this series just based on that and the fact the Angels were due to beat Boston.

Now hopefully the Angels will take out the fucking Yankees.

That's true, outside of a two week or so run they were pretty dead. I'm bummed but not too surprised. Maybe a little surprised it was only 3 games though. I hope they take down the Yankees.

they werent fighting for anything, they gave up when the yankees took 2-3 in boston in sept. they were content with the WC and that screwed them over.

its what happens when 24 of the 25 pitches he threw were fastballs - and right over the plate.

My heart says the Sox, I want them to win, but I think the Angels finally beat them this year.
called this one as well, although I thought it'd at least go 4.

The Yankees have been 3rd on my least favorite team list (behind the Angels and Rays) for a couple years now anyways.

i really don't know how you can hate the rays. sure they beat you in the playoffs last year but before that they had done nothing to garner any hate.

There's been bad blood and many bench clearing incidents between the Rays and Sox since like '99, they have the worst case of little brother syndrome.

When he want on to pitch 8 perfect innings after hitting him with like 15 ks? Damn, Pedro in his prime was ridiculous.
