I love this band; they don't seem to get too much attention on here. The new album isn't all that great, imo but it has its' moments. RIYL Dinosaur Jr, Teenage Fanclub, etc.

It might be a strange opinion, but their self-titled album is my personal favorite, followed by Come On Feel the Lemonheads

Haha. Indeed, my friend.

I've only heard their cover of "Mrs. Robinson" and that "It's a Shame About Ray" song, those are both pretty good.

Their cover of "Mrs. Robinson" is good but they've definitely got better songs. It's a Shame About Ray is a solid album.

For some reason, I've never been able to get into this band, despite the fact that I adore their peers, and I recognize they're solid, but...I don't know what it is (admittedly, I've only ever listened to and owned It's a Shame about Ray).

Fair enough. I think that It's a Shame About Ray is a good album but I'm not quite as crazy about it as a lot of other people are. I'd recommend Come On Feel the Lemonheads or the self-titled before IASAR.

Yeah, I mean, they're a good band, it's just a matter of my own taste not syncing up with what I'm hearing (which is odd, considering how much of a Dinosaur Jr., Teenage Fanclub, etc. fan I am). I'll check out those two though. Thanks.

I like the S/T from 2006. I REALLLLLY liked it. solid hooks, and the rhythm section is great, and Dando's voice doesn't sound bad at all.

Same here man. "No Backbone", "Become The Enemy", "Baby's Home" and "Poughkeepsie" are all such great songs. I dig the production on it too, and the rhythm section is indeed great. But with Bill Stevenson involved, what do you expect? Ha

Not a problem. I understand what you mean so no worries. Hopefully you find something more to like about those albums.

Bill Stevenson rules man. good producer too, although I'm pissed at him for that last Rise Against record haha :-/

Yeah, one of my favorite producers for sure. Never listened to the new Rise Against so no comment there, ha

see I loved The Sufferer and The Witness because it was them going a bit more accessible, but with great hooks and alot of energy. this was so toned down and boring its unbearable.

but back to The Lemonheads. never heard any of their old albums. is It's A Shame About Ray a safe bet?

Oh I gotcha. I really liked TSATW but never bothered checking out the new one. I probably won't be doing so anytime soon either, haha. But maybe one of these days.

Anyway, yeah I think so. Of the older albums, Come On Feel The Lemonheads is my favorite but It's a Shame About Ray is good too. Lovey is another solid choice but I'd go with either Come On... or Shame... if you're looking to check out the older stuff.

I only have Come on Feel the Lemonheads, but it's great.

Oh and Siren Songs is the last good Rise Against album.

I've actually been meaning to get Come On forever now, still don't. I only have Ray, Car Button Cloth, and the '06 s/t. Haven't listened to the new one yet.

I also have an Evan Dando bootleg(?) if you're interested. This one (http://rateyourmusic.com/release/unauth/evan_dando/playing_acoustic___somewhere__somet ime/), to be exact.

New one doesn't do much for me. Maybe it's the fact that it's a covers album, but I dunno. There's some good cuts and some I don't care for much at all.

Sweet, I'll definitely check that out. Thanks for the link.

Yeah, covers albums tend to be hit-or-miss at best.

Let me know if you need help finding that.

Good man. Some great songs on that album. I'd say check out their self-titled next but it's your call.

Mhmm, that does seem to be the case most of the time. I doubt I'll really ever go back to Varshons much at all, including the tracks I like.

Alright, will do. I should be able to find it but I'll let you know if I can't.

She'd shake it up. It was hard to make out; now it's plain to see.
I couldn't cook to save myself- found I like her recipe.
