So my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. She's gone through chemo and once she's done with the radiation my sister and I are throwing a party to celebrate. I want some songs about surviving something difficult or enjoying life or just generally upbeat, happy songs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance !

P.S. And I already have Jack's Mannequin. Didn't really think it'd be that easy, did you?

Well, darn. I came running over to this thread about to go, "Jack's Mannequin!" but now I have to actually sit down and think about other songs that might be good. Congratulations about your mom making it through chemo!

Here are some songs that might work. Hope they help!

Little Victories - Matt Nathanson
Breathe - Anberlin
White Lights - Deas Vail
Fully Alive - Flyleaf (I would personally recommend the acoustic version)
Chase This Light - Jimmy Eat World
One More Time With Feeling - Regina Spektor
Hurricane - Athlete

Fully Alive is a great track... more about being alive in Christ, but certainly a song about surviving life.

How about The Distance by Cake?
