maybe sony and nintendo will combine forces to knock out the american powerhouse.

why is sony related in this? it's a konami property and has appeared on numerous systems. i guarantee that sony would not promote this and was probably upset about it.

not sure how i feel about it. he doesn't really fit into the smash universe.

because microsoft and sony both have other industries to fall back on.


nintendo has had to deal with the cube not doing that great and competing with the psp.



even though they are huge in japan, i suspect that either microsoft or sony will attempt to buy them out.

even though they are huge in japan, i suspect that either microsoft or sony will attempt to buy them out.
Probably not gonna happen if Nintendo is still a profitable gaming company, unlike Microsoft and Sony.

exactly. Nintendo is not in any way in money troubles. Everyone looks at sales in north america and thinks that they are dying, but they forget the fact that Nintendo is ten times more efficient than the other companies and continues to bring in the Hamiltons.

On the console yes, but are planning to make up the losses on peripherals and games. don't know how well its going for microsoft, but juding that they are selling the controllers at ~250% profit...

but i know the ds didnt sell much in the UK and i think its less popular here.

The DS is a cultural phenomenon in Japan and has sold more worldwide than the PSP. I don't know about sales in the US, but Sony appears to be putting all their effort into the PS3 rather than the PSP, so even if the PSP is ahead in North America, it won't be for long considering how much steam the DS is gaining, not to mention the huge titles coming out for it.

And Microsoft did not make any money off of the Xbox, it was created to create marketshare in the industry so that they could dominate with its successor, the 360.

I don't feel like reading what the idiots have to say.. or what they might have or anything after the first few replies I realized what would probably come up... so I say this to whomever needs to hear it..

I love when people try and talk about gameing and don't know shit. Nintendo is in no trouble, sony got slapped in the face. The DS dominates PSP in sales. Nintendo makes a ton of profit and are entering the movie industry not to mention the billions they rake in on toys and clothing. Oh lets not forget that they make money off of systems, and that the Wii could easily be the number one if not I can pretty much guarantee number 2 in console sales this time around. Fucking idiots.

DS is fucking DOMINATING in software and console sales, and when the lite hits, theirs going to be a damn surge of sales. The PSP is shit. PSP is the gamegear of the new generation.

exactly. because the gamegear was so far ahead of its time and technologically superior to the game boy. i still have my gamegear. The PSP is better than the DS in every department except for software, which is really all that matters. so psp is fucked.

Haha and DS could destroy the PSP if it gave free blow jobs. Sweet hypotheticals. The fact is, Sony is not making these moves that will help them and Nintendo is. Sony has yet to capitalize on the power of the PSP, as most games are all ports and have yet to provide something different, much like the DS has. Most people have portable mp3 players so they don't need a PSP for one and most people would rather spend $150 on a PS2 than buy an underpowered portable PS2 for $100 more.

I believe it is but I don't have the actual figures and I'm too lazy to find them. So I don't want to be ignorant and say it is if it isn't. Worldwide it is I know, but I'm not sure about North America.
