Ghosts of the Great Highway is such a fantastic album. It's sounds so incredibly haunting. It's been the soundtrack to my weekend thus far.
PS: The acoustic forum should not be allowed to be this slow. :aimfrown:

Since Tiny Cities is just covers of old Modest Mouse songs it's not even really that comparable.
Ghosts of the Great Highway is one of my favorite albums.

You should throw it on if you're ever on a long drive across the Western United States. I did that on a stretch of an open highway in Texas where there's no town for 130 miles (that kind of follows the border) and it was awesome.

I can only imagine how great it would sound then, that's the prefect element for it.

Yea dude. Stuff is so far apart out here (like when driving between California and Texas for example) so I've experienced a lot of great music in that way. Man that album is so good. Kozalek is a songwriting genius. Gentle Moon is so good that it's almost creepy.
April is good too I just haven't listened to it as much yet.

Yeah, the whole album is solid like that.
I really like Salvador Sanchez and Pancho Villa and how they go together even though ones near the beginning and the other is at the end. Plus growing up here almost everyone learns about Pancho Villa (at least kind of a mythical version of him) so it makes me think about the way the Southwest was like before technology made it what it is today.

The whole album flows well from beginning to end, it is really an album that needs to be heard in its entirety in order to get maximum enjoyment.

Love Kozelek and all of his projects. "Duk Koo Kim" just came up on shuffle and reminded me why.
Forgot about these guys. I love Ghosts of the Great Highway, probably gonna listen to that tonight now.

RHP and SKM are very, very similar. In my opinion, I don't think one is better than the other.

recently got into Ghosts of the Great Highway. Great stripped down acoustic feel, awesome album. The Modest Mouse cover album is.....not as awesome.
