Wierdest lineup ever in my opinion is
Miss May I
Iwrestledabearonce
and Of Machines
they should be announcing it either this month or next month.
its a december, east coast tour.
My favorite band(of machines) on tour with my least favorite band(iwrestledabearonce).
lmao
what are some of the wierdest tour lineups you have seen/heard of lately?
CollectiveConfusion
10/06/09, 08:27 PM
i haven't heard any of those bands.

Not that weird that bad bands tour together

10/06/09, 08:30 PM
How is that a weird lineup? Those bands all belong together pretty nicely, because they're all shit.
Edit: I was beaten.

not wierd in a negative way, but bands of different genres touring together sorta :)

10/06/09, 09:04 PM
Weirdest I've been to was:
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Boys Night Out
The Dear Hunter
Pierce the Veil
It's obvious who the sore thumb is in that lineup.

Once Haste the Day toured with Brokencyde. I still can't figure that one out.

*Weird.
transition on tour with reel big fish and streetlight manifesto. The crowd did not take well to them at all.
You Won't Know
10/06/09, 09:29 PM
The Used, Almost and Drive By (?)
I guess the new Used album is so mid tempo that it makes sense on that level though.

10/06/09, 09:30 PM
just because your favorite and least favorite band are touring together doesn't make it weird.
i think, judging by their names and what i know of them, they fit fairly well together on tour.
EDIT: also, one of saves the day's first tours was with bane. a bit strange, but i kind of understand it.

10/06/09, 09:37 PM
I once saw The Pink Spiders play with The Reign Of Kindo.
sweepthenation
10/06/09, 09:38 PM
Anberlin, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, A Straylight Run, There For Tomorrow.
Now THAT was wierd

William Elliot Whitmore and Converge I guess.

that's not that weird haha. i think the pactour is weird, but not in a bad way. it's a pretty good mixture.

Remember back in 2001 when Glassjaw and NFG toured together? If I'm not mistaken, The Movielife was on that one too.

10/06/09, 10:09 PM
Three shitty "screamo" or "metal" bands touring together. How odd! The weirdest for me was when some all girl joke rap group from Canada opened for Tegan & Sara. Odd to say the least

The Thursday, Dillinger, Fake Problems tour is pretty off the wall.
The current AP Fall Ball has Set Your Goals on it which they don't quite fit.
A few years ago Emery toured with Pierce The Veil and Mayday Parade
The Taste of Chaos tour for 09 seemed to be a bunch of bands with no connection thrown in together too.

I think NFG and Dashboard is a bit wacko
CalRahhh
10/06/09, 10:49 PM
Converge, Mastodon, Dethklok, and High On Fire.
I also saw a poster for a show that had GWAR and Cattle Decapitation together.

*Weird.
Thank you.
I was about to note: Also weird is your spelling of weird.
I believe this word is one of the few instances where the "I before E except after C or when sounding like A as in neighbor or weigh" does not apply.
Unless I've been mispronouncing it my entire life and it's actually "wAYrd", I do not believe, however, that this is the case.
And all those bands blow anyways; if you're going to listen to metal/grind/hardcore, listen to The Number Twelve Looks Like You or the likes, at least they have valid cred. And if you're going to listen to shitty grind in an attempt to enjoy it (at least for the lolz) listen to Ed Gein.

I enjoyed this tour. Cry Of The Afflicted opened too, making Mayday look REALLY weird with the rest of them. Oddly enough, of the 3 times I've seen the band, this was the best.

another thread where everyone talks crap about the bands listed and misses the point of the thread.
but of machines is no where near a horrible band. the rest are yes but no of machines.

Bamboozle Left was pretty weird with the top acts being Thrice, TBS, Deftones, and 50cent. (Playing in that order)
I'm going to see Moving Mountains later this month who are the opening band on the Say Anything tour, I think thats pretty fuckin weird.

10/07/09, 01:45 AM
lol so far a lot of people are posting tours that arent that weird. Set Your Goals on fall ball = makes sense. NFG + Glassjaw...that's the winner so far.
I saw Jet Lag Gemini, Bomb the music industry, Suburban Legends, Whole Wheat Bread. JET LAG GEMINI WERE THE HEADLINERS! Everyone left before jet lag.

my weirdest concert line-up was projekt revolution with the used, snoop dog(g)?, korn and linkin park. it was a little fucked up; during the korn set a fat chick had sex in the row behind us, and some guy in his late 20's atleast put a blunt out on my brother's arm.

How about this year's Atticus tour with Finch, Bless The Fall, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Vanna and Let's Get It? 2 scene bands, a kind of old school band, an awesome fucking band (Vanna) and a Panic! At The Disco rip off. Weird.

diversity = diverse draw = cross-over fans
One gig I went to, it was pretty cool how diverse the line-up was.
Culprit One - a local DJ/MC from Cardiff, really got the fans dancing
Fleeing From Finales - a FOB-esque pop-punk band that got the crowd singing along and rocking
and then headlining was Gym Class Heroes.
A mix of genres but it all fitted together so perfectly. So I guess you could call it weird but it worked nicely.
Apart from that, FFAF and Bullet for my Valentine was a dodgy mix. Just because they're both Welsh doesn't mean they work together.

Actually they both are awful.
But Evergreen Terrace, For the Fallen Dreams, Asking Alexandria and Unholy is a pretty weird tour, mainly the last two bands.
Overall it's just a crappy tour though, outher than Evergreen Terrace.

Taste of Chaos where Thursday headlined, made no fucking sense. I will never be able to get the taste of Bring Me the Horizon out of my mouth.
Thursday also toured with Heavy Heavy Low Low and fear before the march of flames, which was kinda awkward.

a lot of the things ya'll have listed really aren't that weird. I mean, a lot of the bands you're mentioning are only slightly different genres >_>
I'd say the 'weirdest' show I've been too was New Found Glory, Reggie and the Full Effect, and Eisley. It would make sense if there was one of the three bands that sounded different, but in this case, all 3 were really different, especially since this was Eisley before their first album (so, way before Combinations, which is a little heavier and would have made more sense with the other two bands), Reggie was touring for a mostly post-hardcore album (songs not to get married too) and played a lot of hard stuff, and it was Catalyst era NFG, so a lot of straight forward pop-punk. Reggie and NFG would have made sense... but adding Eisley? I mean, I love them now, but their energy is completely different than anyone expected on a pop-punk tour.

Shai Hulud opening for New Found Glory in the spring was weird. I like Shai, but a metalcore band opening for 2 good pop punk acts and bayside didn't seem to make sense. I guess its why they dropped off and some other band filled in.

They've been friends for some time though, NFG and Shai

also chad of NFG used to be in shai so it makes perfect sense.

eisley was added because at the time chad of NFG was dating their lead singer.

rise against/alkaline trio/ thrice was pretty weird. Alkaline Trio and Rise Against go together just fine, but Thrice was a little out of place, especially considering they played before Alkaline and RA and were much better than both of them.
