What with the creation of all these seperate genre forums I thought I'd take the chance to suggest that we have a 'Song Meanings' forum too.
I reckon it'd get used a lot; I for one used to love going onto the Northstar message board and reading everyone's different interpretations of what the lyrics meant.
Anyways, just an idea...

I agree, a section similar to the website http://www.songmeanings.net would probably prove very popular, that site in itself is very popular especially for the sort of music people listen to on here... if you check out Taking Back Sunday for example (in that site), Cute Without the 'E' has over 800 posts.

Yes, but I notice that a lot of the posts on songmeanings.net are just people saying things like "Taking back sunday is a kick ass band!!!!!!!" and not actually having an intelligent discussion about what the lyrics mean. It's intelligent discussion that I want, haha.

Yeah that's the problem, alot of it is just "omg i love this band adam is so hot..." blah blah, but that has nothing to do with the site itself, the site is there to serve a purpose, it's upto the people how they make use of it.
You'll have alot of people saying, yeah i think this song is about........... and the song broken down neatly into segments, and then you'll have others who are just like "i love this song, play it at my funeral, my wedding and when i'm in labour".
With that said my opinion is it would be great to have it, and if they do implement it... i just hope people use it for the right reasons.
The other thing is how would it be implemented? it can't be implemented in the forum style where you post the title of the song in the subject field, because intime you'll have about 9 billion threads about the same song.

I don't know. I guess if people were serious about it & using it properly they would use the search function.

lots of newbies won't use the search function, or know how to... plus the search function isn't always entirely accurate...

Yeah, I go there all the time. I suggested something similar to this a realllly long time ago..then that whole 'if you have lyrics and tabs on your site legal action will be taken!' crap happened.

YES!
Or, when Tate adds a lyric database (which I think he is), allow it so we can comment about what we think the song means and all that.
