For all of you that will play fantasy football next year, i have some advice for you......
DON'T DRAFT SHAUN ALEXANDER!!!!!!
and i'll tell you why. he is on the cover of madden and the madden curse will strike again. if he doesn't get hurt, he may have his worst year ever. also the seahawks lost jurivicias and subsiquently decreased their passing game so there will be more emphisis on the running game

the "madden curse" is and has always been a crock. the seahawks also picked up nate burleson, a fact which you failed to mention. i think shaun alexander is going to do just fine...also, i've seen worse spellers on this board.

The Hawks picked up WAY more talent than they lost. On paper, they may be even more dangerous this year than they were last year. They added Ashworth to the line, Womack is a great lineman and he'll fill in that G spot just fine. He's not Hutch, but he's very capable. Nate Burelson gives the Hawks that deep threat they didn't have since they lost Koren Robinson. Bobby Engram goes back to being a possesion reciever, and DJ stays at #1, it'll work out fine. The only reason Jurevicious had such a great year last year is because so many Seahawk WR were hurt last year. Plus, the Hawks added Peterson on defense, still might sign Ty Law, Ken Hamlin is healthy again, and Lofa Tatupu and Hill (the outstanding rookie Linebackers) are back for their 2nd year...
AND, for the record....there is no such thing as the Madden Curse. Look it up, and you'll be shocked at how minor some of the things are they stretch to call a "curse." And you know what? Of course Shaun's numbers are going to do down. He just had a career year, he broke the TD record, and he lost an OL, AND he's not in a contract year anymore. But, his decrease will go to the Madden Curse, right? Fucking lame. Shaun will still have a great year and the Seahawks are still the team to beat in the NFC.

Oh, so now not only are you predicting his worst year ever because a mediocre WR left the team and was adequately replaced, you're also the prognosticator of injuries? You're so fucking cool, dude. I'm going to avoid him now at all costs in fantasy leagues. actually, come run my draft for me. I mean, i don't want to draft peyton manning if he's going to break a wrist in week 11.

Can't we lock this forum from retards like this kid and just let the regular posters here post without these idiots? or at least screen them through some sort of spelling test like "spell the word 'claimed'," and/or sports knowledge test like "do you believe in ridiculous curses and that a mediocre WR's departure will cause the MVP RB to drop in production?" some of these kids are ridiculous.

i love how people think having nate burleson is an upgrade from jurevicious. he only was ever considered good because randy moss would get doubled, and he'd get thrown to more often. without moss, he was injury prone and still couldn't be even a reliable #2.

but i expected it. i just don't seeing him being a good first round pick now. say what you want but he's not going to put those number up anymore and i predict him getting hurt early in the season.

see, i agree with you that if i had the #1 pick, i wouldn't take him this year, because he lost hutchinson, he's not running for a contract, plus he only stacks up rushing stats, no receiving like tiki or lt would. nor would i take LT, because of philip rivers being an untested qb and san diego is gonna face more defenses like the Eagles, who stack 8 in the box. but the way you went about it, by talking about the madden jinx and not giving any reason behind it except he'll break his ankle, is ludacris.
I'd pick Larry Johnson, with him as the starter now his carries will increase, and he's in line for an MVP type year similar to Alexander's, last year.

well if you take a look at history of the cover of madden. every player except ray lewis has gotten hurt if i'm not mistaken, and ray had his worst year ever. i could be wrong but i've looked this up before.

Why your opinion is invalid:
Reason #1: You're predicting a bad year for alexander based on a mediocre WR leaving the team.
Reason #2: You're predicting injuries.
Reason #3: You're predicting injuries based on a retarded "video game curse".

quite possibly, BUT if it does happen it won't be because of john madden, joe jurevicius or a broken ankle.
his numbers are bound to drop, look at the season he had last year. how could they NOT go down?

Yea no kidding. There is no curse. Lewis and George had good years, and Culpepper's numbers dropped. But that is to be expected after you have a year that warrants a videogame cover. Johnson will have a year similar to Alexander last year and Priest Holmes a few years ago. It will be fun to watch.

do your research.
shut. the. fuck. up.
Barry Sanders retired after he was on the cover. OMG CURSE??
Eddie George had a statistical decrease after a great year the year before. He was healthy all year. OMG CURSE
Vick and Culpepper missed 5 games in their respective years. OMGGGGGGGGGG TEH CURSE
2005, Ray Lewis. =Critically seen as an off year; team missed playoffs after losing Wild Card Playoff in 2003.
OH NOES THE CURSEE AGAINNNNNNNNNNNNN

this is why people will be all MADDEN CURSE STRIKES AGAIN after Shaun rushes for 1400 yards and 20 TDs.

i wouldn't take him with the number one pick either. not because he's not going to be good, but because johnson is a better choice. you know what's really ludicrous? that you think ludicrous is spelled like the rapper's name.

i never said he was an upgrade. i just think he's an adequate replacement. admittedly, he was a major fantasy disappointment last year. i had high hopes for him after moss left and his year the year before, but look at culpepper last year. that certainly had a lot to do with it. plus, he was injured a lot. jurevicius's numbers improved quite a bit last year because he was one of the few healthy receivers with the hawks.
