Just started listening to them, I'm enjoying it. Not usually the kind of thing I listen to but still, good stuff. Gotta love the thick Scottish accent haha. Any fans?

Groundskeeper Willie crooning over a sea of distortion. Haha, but really, I'm not sure. Seeing as how I don't usually listen to this kind of thing it's hard for me to give a solid RIYL. However, last.fm has Frightened Rabbit and We Were Promised Jetpacks as similar artists. Can't really say if that's accurate or not though.

They hadn't won me over until last year's compilation Killed My Parents and Hit the Road. The new album is really good.

I can't remember if you were already familiar with Frightened Rabbit and We Were Promised Jetpacks, but I highly recommend that you check out Frightened Rabbit's The Midnight Organ Fight if you like the Twilight Sad here. Man really knows how to write a good one liner.

I really need to check this band out. I've come to love Frightened Rabbit and We Were Promised Jetpacks lately so from the sound of things I'll probably enjoy this.

I actually used to hate thick Scottish accents in vocalists, which looking back was pretty ridiculous of me. I listened to We Were Promised Jetpacks on a whim and enjoyed it a lot, so I listened to The Twilight Sad soon after because I remembered dismissing them before on the basis of the accent. I really enjoy them, and I will never make such a foolish mistake again.

One of the only bands I like from the UK. Which is impressive when I've lived here for twenty years now.
I really like Cold Days From The Birdhouse until it explodes. I'm having a hard time getting into any of the other songs. I think the new album is something closer to what I like.

Haha, great description. The song you posted isn't bad. I'll look into them.

I reflexively associate this band with sparkly vampires, thus my interest meter sits on a fairly low setting.

I prefer the first album but haven't really given the second chance to grow on me yet.

Forget the Night Ahead is one of the year's best.
Forget The Night is definately a grower and a great album, but I think I'll take We Were Promised Jetpacks's debut over it for this year if we're just talking scottish accents here.

I second this.
