Two Dancers is my favorite release of this year so far, if you haven't heard of it or them check out this review (http://sunonthesand.net/2009/wild-beasts-two-dancers/) and give it a listen.

Two Dancers didn't really catch me the first time I heard it, but I'm open to giving it another chance.

I would definitely give it another chance or two.

Second half of the year has been far superior to the first in my estimation.

Agreed, while MPP came in the first i've found a lot more i liked in the second half

Only first half albums I listen to with any regularity are The Blue Depths and Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle.

The first half gave me Hospice, MPP, and Sometimes I Wish We Were An Eagle, so I can't really complain. The second half has Central Market, jjn2, and Wind's Poem so they're pretty even for me.

jj no2 is such a delightful slice of Scandinavian pop.

Yeah, the second half of the year has been great, and that's not even counting what is to come later in October (SPOILER ALERT: Embryonic,, Logos, and Tarot Sport are all great.)

I passed on Odawas at first because they didn't get really great reviews from anyone (anyone being Tiny Mix Tapes and Pitchfork), but I'll give them a shot.
EDIT: Great reviews from anyone except you, Vinh (http://sunonthesand.net/2009/odawas-the-blue-depths/).

I gave Two Dancers another listen, as you suggested, and I'm definitely liking it more. It's a grower album.

You're birthing machines
And let me show my darling what that means
Probably the most delightfully sexual tune of the year. Two Dancers is such a vast improvement over Limbo, Panto.

Sorry, didn't mean to travel to Australia, head to AP on your computer, enter the Wild Beasts thread, click play, and fix your eyes on this particular video. Not punk on my part at all.

Here's a fabulously recent and dramatic looking interview with Hayden and Ben (http://www.spinearth.tv/report/wild-beasts-tour-stateside-with-a-strong-outlook)...cool chaps and if you haven't seen them live yet, got to catch them since they still have a few dates left on the East Coast...

I love how diverse it is on there, sure you get something you won't enjoy but the interviews with veterans/legends and world music perfrmances that you have never heard before (probably) always makes up for it. Plus the acts you do like too of course.

Two Dancers has definitely grown a lot in opinion since I first heard it. I'd say it's probably top five or right on the cusp of it for 2009.

Gonna add this in there too actually, particularly that live version, both of their vocals are so good.

My favourite is Two Dancers (ii). It kills me when he sings "Deserter", and the bass comes in.

I'm busting out Limbo, Panto. Both albums are so great.
When I saw them live, there were actually people who weren't grooving! I don't get it, I can't stay still.
