So i've been dating this girl for about 3 months now, her name is Sam. She has this friend named Kit and Kit used to be dating my friend Jake, therefore this past Summer I was invited to Kit's birthday party along with Jake and one of my other friends. This is where I actually met Sam.
Anyway, we hit it off right away, and at first Kit and I got along great with Jake and my other friend Ben and all of her friends. We all mixed well together and planned group things occasionally. But when Sam and I started dating, and Kit and Jake broke up, Kit started talking to me less and less, and I kept hearing about all these issues between her and Jake and Ben and all that other crap, so occasionally I would help either side with information, like Kit had me find out about some rumors or something from Jake and she'd be grateful and stuff, but what really bothered me is she'd only talk to me if she needed my help with something.
So it's been 3 months now, yesterday was Sam and I's 3 month anniversary, and it was also her 18th birthday. We spent all day after school together and went shopping for her little birthday party that's going to happen today. (At Kit's house). And apparently after I went home, she stopped at Kit's to drop off some of the stuff, and Kit was mad because Sam didn't take her to the store the next day and took me instead. And there's been issues in the past where I'm talking to Sam and Kit will come up and start talking to her, ignoring the fact that I even exist. I just didn't know how to feel, and It's started to make me wonder if she just didn't like me or didn't want me to come between her and Sam.
So today, before Sam's party I texted Kit and let her know how i felt and let her know that all I care about is Sam's happiness. And she pretty much responded with "I want sam to be happy too but something doesn't feel right about you to me so that's why i ignore you."
So it's like, wow, she pretty much just told me she doesn't like me. How am I supposed to feel about that? Kit and her are REALLY close and I feel so out of place standing with both of them. I've tried telling Sam how it makes me feel and she just says there's nothing she can do about it, it's not worth the energy, and that it only matters what she thinks and loves me for everything I am.
I just can't help but feel like something is missing, Sam and I always talk about how we would never judge a person without getting to know them first, and I feel like that's exactly what her best friend is doing to me, and she's sitting idly by letting it happen. What should I do? How should I feel?

I've never liked any of my past girlfriends' friends. Any of them. And although this isn't necessarily your situation, you should just grin and fucking bare it if you like your girlfriend. There will be times when you wonder why your girlfriend is friends with such a stupid whore and why she needs to go somewhere with her and her slutty friends. But the best thing to do, is trust your girlfriend [unless she is also a skank] and just let it be.

You shouldn't really care too much. As long as the friend's dislike of you doesn't affect your relationship, it's not a big deal. You're dating "Sam", not "Kit".

My ex and my best friend hated each other and it eventually was a big part of why she is now an ex (at the time it really bothered me but now I'm happy it ended). Anyway, I presume you don't hate this kit person, so just be polite and if she wants to dislike you, then let her, it'l only be a problem if either you or kit start making it awkward for your girlfriend by openly talking about the other when you're with sam. And i guess you just have to hope kit doesn't do this, because at the end of the day, she is her best friend
