Haven't seen one of these so figured I'd make one.

The Prize Fighter Inferno is the solo-side project of Claudio Sanchez, lead singer and guitarist of Coheed & Cambria. He has released one album entitled "My Brothers Blood Machine" which includes songs fused with acoustic, electronica, pop, and rock. Recently, Claudio release Kill Audio, a comic series of his own, and if pre-ordered a 7" of two previously unreleased Prize Fighter Inferno songs came for the first 1000 who bought the pre-order. Claudio has also made hints that more material for The Prize Fighter Inferno will be released sometime next year after the new Coheed & Cambria record is finished.

Has anyone heard the new song yet? Claudio put up a preview of his new Kill Audio comic and a new PFI song played in the background. I don't have a link atm, but I definetly liked what I heard.

yeah I heard it, it sounds a lot more upbeat and not as poppy which is cool

I'm not trying to bag on stuff being poppy, just observing

yeah I kinda got the feel that Accidents was the black sheep of the album, I really enjoy it though

irrelevant to this forum but based off your username, did you see Portugal. on their fall tour?
I saw them last night, best performance I've seen them out on.

Well my band was very fortunate to have open for PTM back in september. They came back about a week and a half ago but I wasn't able to get off work to see them. Did you enjoy em live?

if we're talking Second Stage era Coheed, then they win the battle... but everything after that has not pleased me. Prize Fighter Inferno's album really surprised me, because it DIDN'T sound like Coheed, and that was a good thing. :-)

is that the second album? if so, then yes, i did like a few songs on that album. but the past couple records have just been too metal-ish. meh.

yeah thats the second one

I feel like the song writing isn't as good because they break into solos now
which isnt bad, its just their song writing was so solid the first 2 albums

totally! i'm so tired of just guitar solos in every song.

the first album was so original. the songs were golden. the second album, they started to get way more mainstream (cuz i think they signed to major for that album. maybe im wrong), and they've just been going downhill ever since. the whole original project/storyline seems like its faded away, and it's all about how metally they can sound.

i dunno, that's just me...

they signed to the major after they released the album and it got rereleased on the major
I think if the story stopped at the second album and they didnt go into the willing wells the albums could have been much different
but im happy about their progression

i'm happy about their progression too. because now when i know they're touring, i know who i'm NOT going to see that night. ;-)

haha, how internet-dickish of me to say.

but really, i lost my interest in them after the In Keeping Secrets. oh well.

I definitely didn't fully appreciate this record enough when it came out. Especially now that Claudio is a rock-god and they build these wankery classic-rock noodles, it's so refreshing to hear Mr. Sanchez all stripped down. So very good.
