Delve into other genres. Given the wealth of great music that has been released over the years, you'll surely find something that strikes your fancy.

This. If you want your faith restored in music, I suggest you find bands that don't sound like Mayday Parade and All Time Low. Considering this is your first thread/post on this site you haven't discovered there's a lot more out there.

Not what you asked for, but The Zombies Odessey and Oracle is a really great, accessible pop album which you might enjoy.

So, to reinvigorate your interest in the medium, you want to be suggested more bands like the ones you once adored, but have grown tired of? You aren't a music lover, as you only care about a very compartmentalized sect of the medium. You don't love music, you love powerpop. Don't associate an entire medium with a subgenre. I suggest venturing outside the scene. It may help.

Been rather busy. I still drop by about once a week but there are rarely decent threads around.
Edit: "busy" means "rad" in French Canadian.

My Willis Alan Ramsey thread is lonely and could use a pity post, Todd.
Hm, maybe you should try Emery's The Weak's End.
You should listen to Between The Trees, they're not disappointing.

Sounds almost exactly like old Mayday Parade, the lead singer is the brother of Jason Lancaster (ex-Mayday Parade).

I haven't gotten around to getting it. It's different stylistically from East of Eden, I assume?

Yeah, it's basically more conventional (no Pakistani influence) and far less inviting. Bergsman's voice should still pull you in. It's just a matter of how long you'll stay.

I haven't listened to the new All Time Low record since a week after I bought it(I bought it the day it came out). if it weren't for the new Catherine record comepletely blowing, it would be my most dissapointing release of the year.

There probably aren't any bands along those lines around right now that aren't incredibly derivative. Some users on this site still love that brand of pop punk, so you should be able to get some solid recs. I've been enjoying Northbrook, Ryan's (theguy77) band, a good bit as of late, and House of Heroes is also pretty fun.
Vinh's (IWasaCamera) advice was likely the best, though. Start trying other genres out, and do so with an open mind. Don't let any "pop" stigma keep you from fun mainstream hits, and don't let "hipster" stereotypes keep you from more obscure bands. I'm sure you'll find something you like.

Adtr is so cheesy, new saosin is terrible, and anberlin is nothing to write home about. Thursday is leagues above any of those bands and SYG is decent. And maybe no one said that because it has never been funny and is played out
