Beta Band Frontman Disappears

Steve Mason, frontman for the now-defunct Beta Band (http://www.betaband.com/), has apparently disappeared, leaving only a message on his website. His latest album, under the name King Biscuit Time, was supposed to be released overseas on May 15th; tour dates have been cancelled and his record company and management have not heard from him yet.
Peace to you all. I'm out of here. It's been amazing but I've had enough. The mountain beat me and sadly you too. That don't mean you should give up. It just wasn't me. Over and out, Steve.
His label has said:
